FACE MASK.
Application fi1ed .Tune 22, 1925. Serial No. 38,899.
This invention is a face mask of the type which is designed to be worn for purposes of beautifying the complexion and resting the facial and adjacent muscles.
The object of the invention is to provide a mask of simple construction which may be evenly and uniformly applied to the face, and be so supported that an equally distributed and regulated pressure is applied to the face, neck, throat and forehead of the wearer.
Referring to the drawings,
Figure l is a front view of my device as in use;
Figure 2 is a front view of my device not in use Figure 3 is a side view of my device shown not in use.
In the drawings, designates the face portion, which is provided with apertures of which 11 constitute openings for the eyes, 12 opening for the nose and13 opening for the mouth of the wearer; 14: indicates the portion of my device for covering the forehead of the wearer and 15 indicates the throat and neck portion of my device; 16 indicates the upper ties and 17 the lower ties for holding my device in proper position when in use.
The head portion 1% is preferably constructed of a thin fabric which will lit over the forepart of the top of the head without discomfort and without setting up perspiration. The face portion 10 is preferably constructed of a suitable water proof material.
In practice, the faceportion of the mask is placed over the face of the wearer so that the throat and neck portion will fit smoothly around the neck and chin, the lower edge being secured by the ties 17. The upper or head portion 14- is passed backwardly over the forehead well onto the top of the head and is tied around the back of the head by means of the ties 16. In this manner, the
ties direct their strains at right angles to each other so that the device will be so secured that an equally distributed and regulated pressure is applied to the face, neck, throat and forehead of the wearer. If desired, various cosmetics may be applied to the skin before placing the mask in position.
The advantages of the invention will be readily apparent to those skilled in the art to which it belongs. An important advantage is that the mask may be worn with complete comfort andis secured in'position in a manner which will prevent it from becoming accidently disarranged while in use.
Having now described my invention I claim:
A face mask of the character described comprising a head portion of fabric wider a at its top edge than at its bottom edge, a base member of water proof material wider at its lower edge than at its top edge, the
top edge of said base member being attached to the lower edge of the head portion so that in use the head portion will extend. over the forepart of the top of the head, said base member having slits therein positioned to register with the eyes, nose and mouth of the wearer and also having a ANITA M. RENAULT.
