Abstract

530,434. Helmets. VINE, G. M. DE. Oct. 24, 1939, Nos. 28556/39 and 620/40. [Class 63] A metal helmet is provided with anti-blast means comprising a strip f<SP>1</SP> across the forehead, deeper dependent side flaps f<SP>4</SP> over the ears, and a portion f<SP>3</SP> connecting the side flaps and adapted to cover the back of the head, all of aerated rubber material covered by a sheathing. Preferably, the material known under the Registered Trade Mark " Dunlopillo " is used, covered with waterproof fabric. The portion covering the ears and back of the head may be detachable, being secured to the sweatband to contact with its lower edge by press fasteners. The chin strap b holds the side portions against the ears. The rear portion may be slit and laced to allow adjustment.
