UNITED STATES PATENT O FICE.
LOUIS H. GAN'O, on NEW YORK, N. Y.
IMPROVEMENT IN CURTAlN-FIXTURE$.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 167,758, dated September 14, 1875; application filed April 6,1875.
To all whom it may. concern:
Be it known that I, LOUIS H. GANO, of New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Ourtain- Fixtures; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and use it, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which form part 'of this specification.
The nature of my invention relates to an at one end, in the usual manner. One of the supporting-brackets is made box-shaped, so as to hold one or more pieces of rubber, leather, or any other suitable substance i, against which the washer 3, secured to the pivot on which the roller turns, is pressed by a coiled or other suitable spring, g, placed at the opposite end of the roller. This spring should be sufficiently strong to keep the washer pressed against the rubber or other material with sufficient force to hold the curtain in any desired position without any other means of holding-it.
Having thus described my invention, .what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The roller a, pulley 0, spring 9, washer 3,
rubber e', and box-shaped bracket, when all,
are combined for operation substantially as specified.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand.
L. H. GANO. Witnesses:
