. Figuren' is a views.
In thev preferred embodiment of the holder f i shown in the drawingsjthe saine comprisesk twofsubstantially flat bars or handle sections stampings or otherwise constructed,
10, 11 which may and which are superposed one on theother for detacliably' receiving between their front l ends astandard vtype of safety razor blade L, 'and extend 12 or similar cutting tool. The latter is adapted to be reliablyclamped Vbetween'the.
-OPpOSng upper section lbeing somewhat longer and overhanging the front end of the companion lower section ,11, while the rear end of the latter extends a suitable distance beyond the Y lcorrespondingy end of said upper section, as
shown in Figs. 1 and 2.
. l`l`orv the purpose of clamping the front ends or head portions of the `handle- sections 10 and 11 to eachother with the blade 12 between'them, they are provided near their front ends and substantially centrally thereof with offset lugs orprojections 13, 14, respectively, which are preferably hook-shaped lengthwise of the sections. As yshown in Figs. 2, Sand 4, the lug 13 of the section 10 is offset in one direction lor 'downwardly and faces 'forwardly while .the lug 14 of the companion section 11`is odset in Yas the opposite direction or upwardly yand vided in rear of its clamping lug with an opening 15 with' which the lug 14 of the lower handle section is adapted to interlock in the assembled position of the parts,

In the locked position of this disk, the handle-sections are, not only saine time held against shiftinglengthwise relative to each other in a rearward direction by the abrupt edge of the disk abutting against the opposing abrupt end of the handle-section 1'0. Shifting of thesections in the reverse direction is preventedby the rear vend of the opening 15 in the upper section bearing against thevertical portion ofthe "corresponding lug 14-of the lower section,
asfshown in Fig. 2. i
In removing theblade from this'iinproved holder, the clamping disk 19 islirst turned 'lap the opposing upper side of the handle i lock the rear ends of thesec-y rlhis locking lip yalso coni f held against separation, but they are at the y 'to nioveits lip'` 20 `out of locked position, 'l after which the upper handle-section,1Oisy l lifted slightly to disengage thecentering lug 17 from. its corresponding .opening l upper section is then shiftedyrearward relatively tofthe companion .lower section 11'l 'v 80. I ranged to interlock'with a vcorresponding opening 18 in the other section.-
to permit the withdrawal of the lug 14 of the latter from the opening l5 in said upper section and the alining blade-opening. `Having thus separated the handle-sectionathe blade can now be easily removed from the upper section lug 13. y i
In applying the blade to the holder th same is locked and clamped between the handle-sections by performing these acts in the reverse order, after which the 'Clamping disk 19 is turned to bring its lip y20 into locked position. .I Y This improved holder is manifestly simple and `durable in construction, it holds the blade tightly to cut tough as well as other' materials, tsparts are so constructed as to permit the ready application and removal of the blade, and it can-be manufactured at a moderate cost. Its thin, Hat construetion makes it lightand compact and renders it especially suitable for mailing.l It
has the further advantage of positively locking the bars against longitudinal displacement on each other, holding their connecting hooks and openings-in proper engagement Without depending on the users grasp of the handles for that purpose.
I claim as my invention z*- i l. A blade-holder, comprising a pair of separable bars movable .lengthwise relatively said bars against relative longitudinaldisplacement. l
2. A blade-holder vcomprising a pair ci' separable bars movable lengthwise relatively to each other andeach having a head-portion and a handle-portion, said ,head-portions having mutually-interiocking members whichl are engaged and disengaged by longitudinal movement of one bar on the other and means for holding said bars against relativev longitudinal' displacement, consisting of a rotary clamping dis-kmounted o n one n of said bars and having an abrupt edge arranged to bear against the abrupt rear end of the other bar, said disk having a lip which overlaps the last named bar in the normal posit-ion yoi' the disk.
