In applying the blade to the holder th same is locked and clamped between the handle-sections by performing these acts in the reverse order, after which the 'Clamping disk 19 is turned to bring its lip y20 into locked position. .I Y This improved holder is manifestly simple and `durable in construction, it holds the blade tightly to cut tough as well as other' materials, tsparts are so constructed as to permit the ready application and removal of the blade, and it can-be manufactured at a moderate cost. Its thin, Hat construetion makes it lightand compact and renders it especially suitable for mailing.l It
has the further advantage of positively locking the bars against longitudinal displacement on each other, holding their connecting hooks and openings-in proper engagement Without depending on the users grasp of the handles for that purpose.
I claim as my invention z*- i l. A blade-holder, comprising a pair of separable bars movable .lengthwise relatively said bars against relative longitudinaldisplacement. l

A blade-holder vcomprising a pair ci' separable bars movable lengthwise relatively to each other andeach having a head-portion and a handle-portion, said ,head-portions having mutually-interiocking members whichl are engaged and disengaged by longitudinal movement of one bar on the other and means for holding said bars against relativev longitudinal' displacement, consisting of a rotary clamping dis-kmounted o n one n of said bars and having an abrupt edge arranged to bear against the abrupt rear end of the other bar, said disk having a lip which overlaps the last named bar in the normal posit-ion yoi' the disk.
