This invention relates to bidets and more particularly to a structure of this character which may be very compactly folded and which is very readily assembled when 1t is desired to use the same.

A further object of the invention is to produce a device of this character having means whereby it may be conveniently filled from the inlet of a bath-tub and may be drained to the outlet of the bath-tub.

These and other objects I attain by the construction shown in the accompanying drawing, wherein for the purpose of 1llus tration is shown a preferred embodiment of my invention and wherein Figure 1 is a perspective view of a bidet constructed in accordance with my invention F igure 2 is a longitudinal sectional View therethrough Figure 3 is a bottom plan view, the legs being broken away;

Referring now more particularly to. the drawing, the numeral 10 indicates a-seat haw ing a central ovato-oblong opening and in accordance with the usual construction of seats of this character reduced in external width intermediate its ends, as at 11, to accommodate the legs of the user. Secured to the under surface of the seat adjacent each end tthereof is a pivoted leg structure 12, each including an upper cross bar 13 connecting downwardly diverging legs 14E at the upper ends thereof and a lower cross bar 15 connecting these legs adjacent the lower end thereof. The cross bar 13 of the legs 14, when these legs are perpendicular to the under surface of the seat, will abut against this under-surface to limit movement of the legs and prevent further separation of the leg units, it being understood that these leg units, when in their folded position, fold upon the under surface of the seat, the free end of each leg unit moving toward the pivotal connection of the other leg unit to the seat. A longitudinal bar 16 is provided having notches 17 to receive the lower cross bars 15 of the leg units when they are perpendicular to the seat and this cross bar tends to prevent convergence of the legs and aceordingly holds this leg and seat structure in a rigid unit;

7 The numeral 18 designates a tank structure and the bottom of which inclines clownwardly toward one end thereof and is at this end provided with a drain opening 19 having communicating therewith a flexible draining tube 20 which may be led to the waste outlet of a bath fitting. The outlet opening 19 may be closed by aremovable plug unless the bidet is employed in a bathtub Where it is usually employed, in which event, the plug may be dispensed with and the contents of'the bidet merely permitted to drain to the waste outlet of the tub. The upper edges of the side walls 12 of the tank are provided with out-turned flanges 22, the end flanges abutting adjacent faces of the upper cross member of the legs to prevent movement of the tank longitudinally of the seat. To the under surface of this seat at one side thereof are rigidly secured slips 23 having their inner ends 2% spaced from the lower surface of the seat a sufiicient distance to admit the flange 22. At the opposite side of the seat, similar swinging clips 25 are provided pivoted to the seat, as at 26, so that they may be swung over the edge of the flange 22 at the opposite side of the tank to hold the tank in applied position.

To one end of the seat is secured a pivoted clip 27, which serves as a means for securing to the seat the central portion of a length of flexible tubing 28 which is directed longitudinally of the seat and which has the outer end thereof provided with means, as at 29, whereby it may be attached to the faucet of a hath-tub. The free end of this tube may be moved about as desired to direct the stream of water to the desired partsof the body and to fill the tank. It will be noted that this clip is pivoted to the seat, so that it may swing longitudinally thereof and be positioned flatly against the surface of the seat, so that it will not project when the seat is in folded position and that the clip has an opening through which the tube is directed, It will be obvious that when the tube is di rected through the clip, any pull upon the tube in either direction will cause the clip to incline about its axis, so that the edges of the opening will come into binding engagement with the tube and prevent accidental slipping thereof. Thus, a means is provided for holding the tube in adjusted positions against accidental displacement.
