Be it known that I, .OLOF S. BURMAN,

a .citizen of the United States, residing at Mnmeapolis, in the county of Hennepin and State of Minnesota, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Faucetv the art to which it .appertains to make and use the same.

My present invention has for its object to provide anextre'mely simple and highly efficient supporting bracket and anchor for attaching faucets to laundry trays and the like. The invention is especially adapted for use in connection with faucets of the types disclosed in my pending application entitled Faucets and attaching brackets, filed February 10, 1921, under Serial Number 443,832, and in my application executed ofeven date herewitluerititled Faucets.

To the above end, generally stated, the invention consists of the novel devices and combinations of devices hereinafter described and defined in the claims.

In the accompanying drawings, which illustrate the invention, like characters indicate like parts throughout the several views.

Referring to the drawings:

Fig. 1 is a view partly in side elevation and partly in vertical section, showing a faucet having the invention embodied there in and attached to a laundry tray; and

Fig. 2 is a view partly in front elevation and partly in vertical section taken on the line 22 of Fig. 1.

The faucet illustrated is of the type disclosed and broadly claimed in my said application executed of even date herewith, and includes a casing 3 attached to the lower ends of vertical hot and cold water pipes 4. Leading from the casing 3 are two oppositely extended nozzles 5, which may be alternately opened and closed by a duplex valve 6 and arranged to discharge into the two compartments of a laundry tray 7, said compartments being formed by a transverse partition 8 in said tray.

Referring now in detail to the invention, the numeral 9 indicates a supporting bracket in the form of two laterally spaced legs cast integral with the bottom of the casing 3 and their lower ends, wide flat toes 10 adapted to engage the inner face of the back wall of the tray 7, on opposite sides of the partition 8; Also formed with each leg 9, at .the back of its toe 10, is asharp claw ll adaptedto engage and rest upon the upper edge of the back wall of thetray 7, as shown in Fig. 1.

To secure the supporting bracket to the tray 7 by drawing the toes 10 horizontally onto the inner faceaof the back wall of the tray 7 and the claws 1 1, vertically downward onto the upper edge of said tray, as best shown in Fig. 1, there is provided an adjustable anchor in the form of a flatstrap 12 and rod 13. The lower end of the strap 12 is bent .to afford a hook 14 adapted to engage the bottom of the tray 7 with the ,body of said strap indirect contact with the backof said tray. Said strap 12 is connected to the lower end of the rod 13 by bending its upper end outward to afford a lug 15 having an aperture through which said .rod extends and forming on the lower end of said rod a head 16 adapted toengage the under face of the lug 15. The upper end portion of the rod 13 is extended through a perforated lug 17 cast on the back of the casing 3 and is provided with screwthreads to receive a nut 18 which bears on said lug as a base of resistance. At its intermediate portion, the rod 13 is provided with a joint 19.

By sliding the rod 13 in the lug 15 until stopped by its joint 19 and folding said rod on said joint, the anchor may be folded in compact form when shipped or stored. The rod 13, where it extends above the top of the tray 7. is bent forward to the lug 17, and by tightening the faucet is drawn rearward and downward and thereby causes its toes 10 and claws 11 to engage the tray 7 as previously described.

From the above description, it is evident that the pipes 4, legs 9 and

12 and 13 rigidly hold the faucet in position over the tray 7, with its nozzles 5 arranged to discharge, one into each of the compartments of said tray.

What I claim is:

1. The combination with a tray, of a depending supply pipe, a faucet on the lower end of the supply pipe supported thereby entirely above the tray, a leg on the faucet, and an anchor for the faucet'attached to tordraw the faucet down and hold said legs supply pipe, a faucet on "cured to the tray on the the tray and under strain to draw the faucet down and hold its leg in engagement with the tray. 7

2. The combination with a two-compartinent tray, of a supply pipe, a faucet on the lower end of the supply pipe and supported thereby entirely above the tray, two legs on the faucet arranged to straddle the partition in the tray, and an anchor for the faucet attached to the tray and under strain in engagement with the tray.
