IMPROVEMENT lN PLOWS.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 165,179, dated July 6, 1875; application filed June 23, 1874.

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, GERHARD RINGEN, of Smith City, county of Pettis and State of Missouri, have invented certain Improvements in Plows.

The following description, taken in connection with the accompanying plate of drawings hereinafter referred to, forms at'ull and exact specification, wherein are set forth the nature and principles of the invention, by which the same may be distinguished from others of a similar class, together with such parts thereof as are claimed as new and are desired to be secured by Letters Patent of the United States.

The invention which it is sought to protect by these Letters Patent relates to plows of The standard F is secured to the beam in the usual'manner, and is provided with a rod, H, starting at f, Which is round iron, flattened at points S, an d is again carried down to the point 0, Where it forms the seat for the lefthand handle I, being the prolongation of the same. From this point this rod, lettered as N, is carried to the land-side, and connected at a, being one rod flattened out at the points hereinbet'ore mentioned, by meansbf which the plow is braced to the said beam.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patentis- Iii a plow, a continuous brace, consisting of the rounded portions H, K, and N, and ot the flattened points f, 8, 0, and n, the part N being the prolongation of the left-hand handle I, and the whole adapted to the brace, standard, beam, handle, and land-side by a single brace, substantially as herein described.
