BOX.
Application filed August 11, 1924.
The present invention relates to a boX designed particularly tor carrying tackle, a1ninunition, lunch or the like.
An important object ot the invention is to provide a bor ot this nature liavin;l ineans whereby it may be easily attached to the belt ot a person in order that it nay be conveniently carried about and in order that access niay be readily had thereto.
Another important object ot the invention is to provide a box ol" this nature having reinovable partitions and a removable tray the various parts ot Vwhich inay be assembled or disassembled very easily.
A still further important object ot the inA vention is to provide a box ot this nature i/iossessing a very simple and etticient construction, one which is reliable, inexpensive to manufacture, strong, durable, and well adapted to the purpose tor which it is designed.
'With the above and nuinerous'other objects in view will appear as the description progresses, the invention resides in certain novel 'features otl construction` and in the combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinat'ter more tully described and claimed.
in the drawing,
Figure 1 is a perspective view ot the box embodying the features of in v invention showing a belt 'traginentarily with the boX u'iounted thereon,
Figure 2 is a top plan view of the box showing the saine open,
Figure 3 is a detail perspective ot the removable traine,
Figure L1- is a top plan view ot the boX of the tram-e and cover removed, and
Figure 5 is a perspective view ot one of the removable partitions.
Referring to the drawing in detail it will be seen that the box indicated generally by the letter D consists of a bottoni 5, side walls G, outer wall T and inner wall 8. rlhe inner and outer walls are turned concentric with each. other the former being` shorter than the latter. A hinge 9 is provided on the upper edge oi? the outer wall 7 and a cover 10 mounted thereon so as to be capable ot closing' over the box and to be held in such position by means of a clip 1l attached to the inner wall 8. A. suitable handle 12 is provided on the cover 10 in order that the box may be carried about thereby. 0n the inner wall there are disposed two Serial No. 731.412.
sleeves 13 iter receiving` one arin ot the S- shaped hangers lf-.t the hook portions 15 of which are adapted to engage a belt as is illustrated to advantage in Figure 1. The arins of these hangers 11i which pass through the sleeves have their terminals bent to one sid-e as is indicated at 1S so that the hangers are held against displacement in the sleeve brackets 13.
A pair ot' channel irons 17 are disposed within the bong one tired to the inner tace ot each side wall G and a curved partition 1S having its ends engaged therewith in order that it may be easily removed when desired.
it third channel iron is mounted on the inner tace ot one ot' the side walls (5 and a 'tourth channel iron 21 is mounted on the convened side ol the curved partition 18 for receiving' tine partition element 22 which consiste ot' the straight transverse wall 23 and the curved longitudinal wall 24 extending` troni an intermediate portion ol the wall 23. The t'ree end ot the wall 24 is adapted to be received in channel iron 2O while the channel iron 21 receives one end ot the wall 23 and the other end is disposed against the inner surtace of the outer wall 7. The angle iron 2O is equal in height to the height of wall 242 whereas angle iron 21 is equal in height to wall 1S and the side oit its upper portion is broken away in order that a tray indicated generally by the letter T ina.,r be received as is illustrated to advantage in Figure 2. This tray consists of a bott-om 26, the outer curved wall 27, the inner curved wall 28, and the end walls 29. .fr transversely extending` partition is provided in the tray and two longitudinally eX- tendingl curi rtitions El are disposed between it and the side walls 29. This tray is adapted to rest on the walls 28 and 2d ot the partition element 22 being)` held in place by the ripper portion ot the channel iron 21.
Frein the above description it vvill be seen that the box is capable ot. being' very easily attached to the belt oti a person and that the cover may be opened to swing' outwardly 'troni the person in order that ready access muy be had to the interior ot the box. It is also to be noted that the partitions and the tray may be easily assembled or disasseink bled in respect to the box. Although I have described the invention with a certain degree ot particularity? it is desired to point out that numerous changes in the details 01"' construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to Without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed or sacrificing any oit its advantages.`
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is:
1. A box ot the class described including a pair o'E channel irons disposed interiorly thereof, a partition engaged with said channel irons in order that it may be removed, a third channel iron on the partition, a fourth channel iron on the interior ot the box, and a substantially T-shaped partition having,T two ot ite terminals engaged with the third and iourth channel ironsY all in the manner and for the purpose specified.
Q. In a box ol the class described, a pair ot channel irons disposed therein, a T- shaped partition element havingr two of its terminals engaged with said channel irons, said channel irons ext-ending upwardlyT bcyond the partition and a tray disposed within the box resting on the partition and held in place by the upstarulingthannel irons.
In testimoni`- whereof I atiix my signuturo.
FRED A. THURMAN.
