IMPROVEMENT IN FIRE-TONGS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 162,069 dated April 13, 1875; applibation 'ed February 24, 1875.
To all lwhom it may concern Be it known that I, LUCIAN HOLMES, of the town ot' Tullahoma, in the county of Coffee and State of Tennessee, have invented an Improvenient in Fire-Tongs, ot which the following is a specieation:
My invention is an improvement in the class of tire-tongs Whose legs are provided With a guide or guides, to prevent them passing each other When opened. The means l employ consist of bars pivoted together, and to ears or tlan ges formed on the legs ot' the tongs.
About the middle of the legs A A I fasten the two bars B B, With hinges C C, and oonneot the bars B B by the hinge D, so that they will open and close With the opening and closing of the tongs. rIhe anges or ears E E are extended as far as may be necessary or` described.
