j The invention aims to yprovide anew and' improved window lixture which may be quickly and easily attached tothe frame ot an ordinary window Vor vmay be detached with equal ease, such detachment being advisable when washing paint-ing.

Another aim is to provide a bracket construction which includes clamping meansffor engagement with the inside trim at one side ofthe window and also embodies additional clamping means for engaging one of the conventional sash guiding'strips, the relation ot said clamping means being such that they hold the bracket against possible tilting in any direction.

Yet another object is to provide a bracket of such form that numerous kinds of sup"-v porting members may be connected with it, for instance to support aV curtain pole, a shade roller, draperies or over-draperies, provision being also preferably made wherel by the device may support a sign so that itattached. to the window.

A bracket 5 is shown formed from a single length of strap metal, said bracket having arms 6 and 7 at its ends, vthese arms being straight, being horizontally disposed, and

being positioned at right angles to each other. Between the arms 6 and 7, the bar is bent to provide stationary, inwardly projecting jaws 8 and 9 which are disposed at the inner ends of the arms 6 and 7 respectively and are positioned at right angles'to these arms, the inner extremities 'ot said stationary .jaws being of course integral with each other.

Movable jaws 10 and 11 are cooperable with the stationary jaws 8 and 9 respectively and are adjustable toward and from the same, said movable jaws being carried by and integral with flat horizontal Vbars l-t of Figs. 2 and 1 rethe woodwork or whenl 12 and '18. whichv contactslidably with the outerfsides of the arms 6 and 7 respectively.
