GUSTAVE sIEBEaT, or STJPAUL'MINNESGTA.
TRousER surron'r it 7 Application filed July 2, 1923, Serial No. (name; Renewed Deceni ber 1, 1926.
My invention relates to trouser supports andhas for its object to provide a support for trousers which is fully concealed heserves to support the trousers from six points or more so that the trouser hangs perfectly even and uniform without sagging at any point. a I
' Another object resides in' providing'a' device adapted to hold portions of the trouser prevented from coming together and bagging'.
. In carrying out the objects of my invention, I employ a number of supporting members which are adapted to'be attached to the suspender buttons of the trousers and which extend across between the same to hold the buttons properly spaced so that the portions of the trouser to which they are attached will not come together to cause the trouser waist band to bag. In addition, I form'said supports with a loop or eye positioned mid way between the button to which a'hook secured to the suspender proper may be attached, which, suspender hook is adaptedto be concealed beneath the apparel. of the The full objects and advantages of my invention will be found in the detailed description of the same and are particularly pointed out in the claim.
to the supports. 7 p In the supporting of trousers'by suspend In the drawings representing my invention in one form:
Figure 1 is a perspectlveview of a pair of trousers having my invention attached thereto. l
Figure 2 is a perspective view of the supporting members forming a portion of my I 40 ers, considerable difiiculty has beenfound in that the trousers between the suspender buttons come together giving a baggy appearance when the trousers are worn without a belt. In addition, the forward portion of" the trousers tends to sag when the ordinary suspenders are 1 used giving an unsightly appearance. H My invention overcomes these objections by providing supporting}members which are fastened in-between pairs of suspender buttons to whichthe suspenders are attached which serve to "hold the trousers supported in a neat and uniform manner.
In Figurel, I have shown a pair of trousers 10 having a waist band 11 to whichthe usual suspender buttons12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 are attached on the interior of the same. To each pair of suspender buttons is attached a rigid supporting member Alwhich extends across the interior of the waistband 11 within the same a'ndholds the portion of the trousers between the buttons properly spaced. -I have shown at B- a pair of suspenders which has a rear band 18 and front bands19and 20 which are. adapted tobe secured to the supporting members A at the centers thereof and which pass over the shoulders'of the wearer in the usual manner. 3
The construction of thesupports A can best be seen in Figure 2. ,These devices are preferably made of wire and consist of a body portion 21 being formed at its center with a loop or eye 22andat'its ends with hooked portions 23 and24.
In applying the device, the supports are attached to the trousers by means of the v hooked portions 23 and 2 1 which are hooked over the suspender buttons 12 and 13, as il-' lustrated in Figure 4 with the loop 22 ex tending upwardly. When so positioned, the su the waist band 11, being inconspicuous and out of the way. When the suspenders are ports A lie flat against the. interior of removed,'as will be presently explained, the Q trousers. I s
To the ends of the suspender bands 18, 19
said supports A are left in place upon the and 20, are attached fasteners Cwhich may be attached to the supports A to hold the trousers in place. These fasteners are also made of wire vand consist primarily of a hook 25'which is connected byside members '26 and 27 to a shank 28. -The shank 28 is directly connected to the end of the respective suspender straps 18, 19 and 20 in .the
customary manner, while'the hooks 25 areadapted to be hooked into the loop 22 of the supports A.
In using, the invention, the supporting members A are first attached to: requisite suspender buttons of the trousers, as shown in Figures 1 and l. The suspenders B are then placed over the shoulders of the wearer and the shirt of the wearer put on. The
trousers having the supporting members A therein are next puton whereupon the hooks 25 of the fasteners C may be hooked into the loops 22 of the supporting members A through the shirt proper to support: the trousers through I the supporting members A from the suspenders B. V
WVith my invention, the trousers lie perfectly flat along the person of the wearer without bagging or drooping at any portion or the same. The suspenders and the supporting means are completely concealed and the suspenders may be quickly and easily removed when desired.
In accordance with the patent statutes I have described the principles of operation of my invention,- together with theapparatus which I now consider to represent the 'best embodiment thereof, but I desire to have it understood that the construction shown is only illustrative and that the invention can be carried out by other means and applied to uses other than those set forth within the scope of the following claim. 1
I claim:
In combination with a pair of trousers and they suspend-er buttons there-oi positionedhenea-th the waist of said trousers, a straight rigid member having a loop with an open flaring mouth therein positioned at approximately the central portion of said member, hooks formed upon the ends ofsaid member in the same plane as said'loop adapted to engage said snspender buttons andanother hook to engage the loop formed at the central portion of said, member.
