Description

Nov. 9 1926.
l. RosENBE-RG BELT Filed July '7. i923 ATTORNEY Patented Nov. 9, 1926.
UNITED STATES IRVING ROSENBERG, OF BRONX, NEW YORK,`
Application led July 7, 1923. Serial No. 650,198.
This invention relates to a belt for use by bathersthegeneral object of the invention being to provide pockets in the belt to hold various objects .such as money, toilet artic/lesty and the like.
Another object of the invention is to provide flaps for closing the `pockets for preventing the objects therein from dropping out.
This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of' the several parts to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the acqompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claim.
In describing my invention in detail, reference. will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views and in which:
Figure l is a view ofa belt constructed in accordance with this invention.
Figure 2 is a section on the line 2 2 of Figure l.
Figure 3 Figure l.
` In these views, l indicates the belt which is adapted to be fastened upon the wearer, in the usual manner, by the buckle 2. This belt is provided with the vertical pockets 3 and the horizontal pocket 4. The pockets are preferably formed of flexible beltmg, the pockets 3, being formed by looping the belting around the belt, transversely, the rear portion being extended lat its upper end to form a flap 5which closes the open upper end of the pocket. A snap fastener 6 is a section on the line 3 3 of comb.
free and making this end of Wedge shape, to
provide a flap 7 which carries a snap fastener 8. This pocket 4 is of considerable length and is mainly designed tovreceive a The other pockets can be used for money, a mirror and other objects.
From the foregoing it will be seen that a person can carry with him in the water various articles which he might need before he returned to his bath-house and as the pockets are provided with flaps there is no danger of losingvthe articles while swimming or playing upon the beach.
It is thought from the foregoing descripf tion that the advantages and novel features of my invention will be readily apparent.
Y I desire it to be understood that I may' make changes in the construction and in the combination andarrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claim.
Having thus described my invention what I desire to claim as new is: Y
A belt of the class described having a transversely arranged strip looped around the `belt transversely thereof with its side edges fastened to the belt upon the outer facey thereof to form a pocket, the rear portion of this r,strip being extended over the normally top edge of the belt to form a flap for closing the upper end ofthe pocket and a fastener for holding the flap in position to close the pocket.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
