R. A. MOORE E-r AL POCKET FOR BATHING BELTS Filed Jan. 6, 1925 INVENTORS TI'ORNEY Patented Jan. 26, 1926e UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
RosWELL A. MOORE, OE WATER'EUEY, CONNECTICUT, AND SOLOMON BYER, OE NEW YORK, N. Y.
POCKET FOR BATHING BELTS.
Application led January 6, 1925. Serial No. 875.
T all 'whom t m04/ con-cern.'
Be 1t known that We, RosWELL A. MOORE,
residing at Vaterbury, New Haven County,
Connecticut, and SOLOMON Briar., residing at the city, County, and State ot' New York,
both citizens of the United States, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Pockets for Bathing Belts, of which the following is a specilication.
Our invention relates to pockets intended to be attached to bathing belts and to be inade of Waterproof material and it is our object to produce such pockets in a simple, cheap :ind efficient manner so that they may be attached to or dei ached troni any bathing belt.
In the drawing Fig. l is a View ot our improved pocket on a belt; Fig. 2 it sectional 'View oit the structure ot Fig. 1 on the line 2 2 thereof; Fig. 3 al sectional View of the structure ot F l on the line 3 3 thereof;
and Fig. 4L e detail View of the Clip used to ho-ld the side edges ot the pocket together.
The pocketcornprises a strip, preferably of Waterproof material, folded to torni a 'front l, back 2 and Cover flap 3. A ysnap 'fastener Il, 4 is provided to hold the Hap 3 in Closed position.
To hold the side edges of the pocket to- .30 gether metal clips 5 and 6 are used, being provided with teeth 7 along both edges as shown in Fig. l instead of along a single edge as has been Customary in prior clips of this nature. These Clips are pressed down on the pocket edges as shown in Fig. t, the teeth entering' the fabric, and elose the side. edges of the pocket.
Before the Clips are atlixed Wire loops 8 and 9 are slipped into the folds of the metal and serve to hold the pocket to the belt to which it niay be al'lixed either by slipping the belt through the loops or sewing belt ends to the loops. As the loops are tree to swing in the Clips the pocket lies :dat on the belt.
By this Construction a sinall, cheap and easily construoted pocket is formed which may be sold separately and slid onto any belt to hold money or jewelry while bathing.
A bathing belt pocket con'iprising a strip provided with toothed edges secured to each side edge ol the front and back to close the sides and a loop Carried by each of said Clips and adapted to engage a belt.
In testimony whereof we have hereunto l subscribed our names.
