Description
UNITED STATES PATENT OEEIGE.
GABRIEL JASMAGY, OF BROOKLYN, NENV YORK.
IMPROVEMENT IN POCKET-BOOKS.
Specilication forming part of Letters Patent No. 155,448, dated September Q9, 1874; application tiled September 5, 1874.
To all whom it may concern Beit known that I, GABRIEL JAsMAGY, of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Pocket-Book, of which the following is a specification:
In the accompanying drawing, Figure l represents a vertical transverse section of my improved pocket-book; Fig. 2, a detail of the gusset-lining detached; Fig. 3, a detail view of the gusset-lining with the partition connectingstrips attached, and Fig. 4 a top View of the latter.
Similar letters ot' reference indicate corresponding parts.
The object of my invention is to produce an improved.pocket-book, by which the stitched connection of the partition and gussets is entirely dispensed with, and a neat connection of the same produced, while preserving the yielding quality of the lower part ot` the pocket or partition walls.
My invention consists of a pocket-book, the
partition or pocket part of which is attached with an interior lining, C, that is provided with radial slits, a, at equal distance from each other, near its periphery. A band or strip, D, is passed in such a lnanner through the slits that loops D', of suitable length, are formed, which extend toward the inside of the pocket-book. The number and position of the slits and loops in the lining correspond to the number and arrangement of the pockets or partition-walls B, the ends of the band or strips D being glued to the lining, as indicated in Fig. 3, and then with the lining to the gussets. The partition-walls are then placed into the pocket-book in such a manner that the projecting loops ot' the gussets enter between the folded double walls from both sides, and connect, when pasted thereto and folded up, the partition firmly and neatly to the gussets without indicating the mode of connection,
so as to form a cheaply and rapidly manufac' ture-d pocket-book.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as 'new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- As a new article of manufacture, a pocketbook, the partition Walls of which are attached to the gussets without stitching, by an interior gusset-lining provided with slits and projecting loops, the latter entering between and being pasted to the pocket-walls, substantially in the manner and for the purpose set forth.
Witnesses: GABRIEL IASMAGY PAUL GoEPEL, T. B. MosHER.
