IMPROVEMENT IN DRAWERS-V Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 151,8l4, dated June 9, 1874 application filed Apri111, 1874.

To all, whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, EMIL WEIL, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Drawers, of which the following is a specification:

The accompanying drawing represents a perspective View of my improved drawers.

rIhe object of my invention is to furnish for general underwear drawers which fit not only more completely to the body, but keep also the stomach warmer by taking the place of the abdominal band. They are readily put on and may be manufactured at the same price as the drawers now in use.

The invention will rst be fully described, and then pointed out in the claim.

In the drawing, A represents the drawers,

which are out in the usual form and material.

The smaller remaining pieces are utilized fully in cutting the extensiondiaps B, which are connected to the front parts of the drawers, tapering o toward the waistband of the same. The end of one extension-flap B is provided with one or more buttons, a, which are placed in a side button-hole, a', as required by the size of the waist, while the other extension-flap B has a tongue end, b, which is adjusted by a side buckle, d. Both flaps are connected in front by a button, c, forming, whenv applied, a double layer over the stomach so as to keep the same comfortably warm, and dispense thereby with the abdominal bands so frequently worn.

The drawers may be adjusted on being put on so as to fit nicely to the body, require less buttons and button-holes, and maybe manufactured of the same piece of material as the drawers in common use, as the cutting of the iiaps utilizes the pieces which were hitherto partly thrown into the waste-basket.

In place of the buckle several buttons may be used for giving the same degree of adjusta bility.

The connection of the lower part of the flaps with the legs of the drawers is suitably strengtheued, so that very convenient, durable, and well-ittin g drawers are furnished thereby.

- Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- Drawers provided with the curved tapering front iiaps B B, for supporting the stomach and keeping the same warm.
