EMBROIDERY-Hoor nomina.
Application filed March 29, 1923. Serial No. 628,560.
Toul whom t may concern:
Be it known that l, ENGELBERT L.
The standard B is in the form of a wedge shaped peg and the upper or larger end JAwoizEK, a citizen of the United States, thereof is provided with a block 6 having 55 residing at Hoquiam, in the county of Grays Harbor and State of l/Vashington, have invented certain new and useful lmprovements iii an Embroidery-Hoop Holder, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to an embroidery hoop holder and has for its principal object to provide novel means for holding a hoop or circular frame upon a suitable support whereby the piece of work held by the hoop or frame can be easily worked upon with both hands if desired.
Another object of the invention is to provide a device of this nature which will be simple, cheap, durable, and effective.
Another object of the invention is to provide a support including means for holdingl the embroidery hoop or framein different positions in relation thereto.
With the above and numerous other objects in view as will appear as the descrip tion progresses, the invention resides in certain novel features of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.
In the drawing Figure l is a side elevation of the device embodying my invention a portion of the clamp beingV shown in section,
Figure 2 is a plan view of the frame,
Figure 3 .is a perspective of the standard or peg, and
Figure l is a detail section taken through the frame substantially on the line 404; of Figure 2, also showing the peg positioned in relation thereto.
Referring to the drawii'ig` in detail it will be seen that my invention consists generally of an embroidery frame A supported on a standard B which in turn is supported by a clamp member C. The frame A consists of the outer hoop l and inner hoop 2. The inner hoop 2 is provided withy a way 3 formed by the arcuate shaped member et having feet 5 at its terminals which are suitably attached to the inner hoop 2. The concaved face of the arcuate member 4 facesthe inside of the hoop 2.
arcuate sides so as to fit snugly within the way 3.
The clamp member C includes a body 7 having an upper bar 8 extending transversely therefrom for engagement with the upper face of a support such as a table, and a lower bar 9 extending transversely from the lower end thereof adapted to be disposed below the support on the table. In this lower bar 9 there is disposed aclainp screw 65 l0 having a plate ll for engagement with the lower surface of the support or table. The upper end of the body 7 is provided with downwardly tapered opening l2 for receiviiiff the lower end of the standard B.
lt will thus be seen that the frame A may be rotated to extend in any desirable relation tothe support to which the clamp C is attached and with a ylittle pressure upon the standard B will be locked in the desired position because of the wedge shaped formation of this standard and the opening 12.
y Although l have described my invention with a certain degree of particularity it is to be understood that numerous changes in the details of construction and in the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
Having thus described my invention what I claim. as new is ln combination, a clamp, a standard rising from the clamp, a block disposed on the upper end of the standard, the thickness of said block being less than that of the standard so as to provide a shoulder at the juncture of the block with the standard, and an embroidery frame adapted to rest on the shoulder and including an outer hoop and an inner hoop, an arcuate shaped member
