Description

H. s. HENNAH MEANS FOR SECURING SANITARY TOWELS TO BELTS OR SUPPORTS Fiied March 21. 1921 Patented Feb. 26, 1924.
YES
PATENT era Q? E a HAROLD SPOTSWOODE' HENNAH, OF LONDON, ENGLAND.
Application filed March 21, 1921.
Z '0 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HAROLD Srorswoonn HENNAH, a subject of the King of Great Britain, residing at 19 Maybury Mansions, New Cavendish Street, London, W. 1., England, have invented a new and useful Improved Means for Securing Sanitary Towels to Belts or Supports, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improved means for securing sanitary towels to a belt or support and is designed to obviate the disadvantages of pins, buttons and the like means hitherto employed and to provide securing means which in use will cause no discomfort to the wearer.
The invention consists briefly in a securing device for the purpose indicated having means for attaching an elastic suspensory member thereto and hooked arms adapted to retain a loop on the towel against unintentional displacement.
Reference will now be made to the accompanying drawings in which Fig. 1. is a side elevation, and
Fig. 2. a front elevation of a device constructed in accordance with the invention.
The device is made perfectly flat from celluloid or other like substance and is provided at the top with a slot or other small aperture to receive the end of an elastic member depending vertically from a belt or other support.
The lower portion of the securing device is formed somewhat similarly to the base Serial No. 454,061.
of an anchor, the two arms extending closely up to the body of the device and leaving only sufficient room for a loop of tape or the like to be inserted.
The elastic suspension member above referred to will cause the loop of tape or the like to engage the securing device around its narrowest point between the two arms thus firmly securing the tape which thereafter can be dislodged only by the use of force or by pressing either of the arms out of alignment with the body of the device. The device provides therefore, a perfectly safe attachment for a sanitary towel which cannot accidentally become unfastened or slip down.
I claim A device for securing sanitary towels to a belt or support, comprising a body portion of sheet-material having an upper member provided with a horizontal slot in the upper end thereof and constricted in width towards the base, and arms projecting upwardly and inwardly from opposite sides of said base towards the edges of said body portion said edges of said body and said arms being in opposed relation and substantially reversely curved to form slots of substantially circular shape terminating in short tapering slits where said arms nearly meet the edges of said body portion, said member and said arms lying in a com mon plane.
In witness whereof I afii my signature.
