' The reference numeral 10 indicates the base of a body'formed with a pair of vertical side lugs 11, a front inturned edge 12, and an aperture 13. A clamp body 14 has a front inturned edge 15 aligned with the edge 12, anda pair of side pintle pins 16 engaged in the lugs 11. A supplementary clamp body 17 has a pair of side pintle pins 18 engaged in the lugs 11,'and acam arm 19 abuttable against the clamp body 14. The supplementary clamp body 17 may be manually turned upwards about its pintle pins 18 and the cam arm 19 will releasethe clamp body 14. A strip of material 20 may then be inserted between base 10 and the clamp body 14, and thus clamped b depresslng the supplementary-clamp b0 y 17.
Another strip of material,not shown on the drawing may be inserted through aperture 13 and permanently sewed in this condition.
In the modification shown in- Fig. 3, the base 10' is of sufiicient length to accommos date two pairs of lugs 11, two clamp mem bers 14', and two supplementary clamp members 17 each arranged as explained in V the preferred form. In the; modification shown in Figs. 4 to. 6,

The supplementary clamp member 1? is cut as; indicated by 21 to allowthis bending. The pintle pins 18 have flanges 22 secured at the outer extremities, and these flanges prevent the vertical lugs 11* from bending further outwards than the vertical position. The'pintle pins 18 are rotatable in eccentrics 24 havingserrated edges 25 en-v gageable in serrated apertures 26 of the lugs 11; The pintle pins 16 similarly are formed with flanges; 22 and eccentrics 24. In order that the clasp acts effectively for different thicknesses of material 20 it is necessary to adjust the eccentrics 24 properly. Pressing the lugs 11 together, the eccentrics 24 may be disengaged from the apertures 26 and turned to vary the distances between the supplementary clamp body 17 the clamp body 14, and the base 10. Upon releasing the lugs 11*? they reengage the eccentrics, locking them in adjusted positions. The lugs 11 are formed with slots 28, and when the lugs are pressed together into the position indicated by the dottedlines in Fig. 6,
the supplementary clamp body 17, and the clamp bodyTi 14 "may be removed, by the pintle pins 1.8, 16 passing through these slots as these parts are lifted upwards. This permits of retempering these parts, should they lose their temper during use.
While I have illustrated and described my invention with some degree ofparticularity, I realize that in practice various alterations therein may be made.
I therefore reserve the right and privilege of changing the form r 2 of the details of construction or otherwise altering the arrangement of the correlated parts without departing from the spirit or the scope of the appended claims.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by United States Letters Patent is:
1. A device of the class described, com-1 prising a base, a pair of resilient vertical side lugs formed therewith, clamping means, pintle pins on the sides of said clamping means, flanges secured to the extremities of the pintle pins, and eccentrics formed-with serrated edges rotatably supporting the pintle pins, the side lugs being formed with serrated apertures, and the eccentrics being adjustably engageable in the serrated apertures.
