To all whom it may. concern.
Be it known that I, EDWARD Bnon'rrorr, a citizen of the United States, residing at Cincinnati, in. the county of Hamilton. and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Display and Advertising Apparatus, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in display and vending apparatus. One of its objects 1s to provide improved apparatus by means of which an original package and its lid may be supported in position to dis play the advertising matter upon the exterior of the original package and its lid,
and to also display the contents of the original package while at the same time protecting the contents of the original package from dust or from loss of mo1sture.

In order to conveniently display the contents ofthe original packages, and display the advertising matter upon the original packages and their lids, I preferably provide one or more sheet metal bands 19 adapted to be applied to the mouth of one or more original packages to telescopically engage over the mouth of said originalv packages in place of the lids, after the lids have been removed. A depending supporting-member 20 is attached to the band or bands 19, and projects downwardly into engagement with a table or counter upon which the original package is to be mounted to display the goods for sale. 1 preferably provide sheet metal projections 21 where the member 20 engages its supporting table,
which projections are armed with short sec tions of soft rubber tubing or similar substance 22 to prevent injury to the glass or varnished surface upon which the original package is to be supported.
A sheet metal frame 2 1 is hinged at 25 to the band or hands 19. The frame 24 is fitted with a sheet of glass or other transparent substance 26, through which the contents of the original package or packages is displayed without lifting the frame 24. Sheet metal. spring clips 27 are designed to detachably hold price tags 28, and 29 is a sheet metal lip or handle by means of which the frame 2% may be conveniently turned upon its hinge 25 to give access to the contents of the original package or packages. The, frame 24 and 26 serves to close the mouth of the original packages and pre vent access of dust to their contents, or loss of moisture from their contents, and at the same time provide for displaying the goods for sale, and at substantially the most suitable angle for observation, and also provides a ready and convenient means of access to the contents of the original package, and one more readily effected than by e mploying the original lids 17 and 18.
