Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 146,157, dated January 6, 1674; application filed l December 12, 1 873.
To all whom it may concern:
Beit known that I, GEORGE l5. ADAMs, of the city of Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Toys; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and' exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and use it, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which form part of this specification.
In the drawing hereto annexed, Figures l and 2 are transverse sectional views of a toy combining my improvements.
Afis an ordinary ball having a hole in the center, in which is arranged a kaleidoscope, B, made in the usual manner. C is au elastic cord attached to the ball, which may or may not be used.
This invention consists in combining a kaleidoscope with an ordinary ball, made of wood or other suitable material, and supplied with an elastic cord, substantially as shown, thus combining with the ordinary ret-urn ball a kaleidoscope; or the elastic cord may be dis# pensed with, if desired, and the ball be used by tossing it in the air, orrolling it about the iioor or ground. p
