Description

UNITED STATES ALONZO E. YOUNG, OF BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS, ASSIGNOR TO FRANCIS L. KING, OF SAME PLACE..
DESIGN FOR GLASS HEAD FOR DOOR-KNOBS.
Specification forming part of Design No. 5,966, dated June 25, 1872.
Specification describing a Design for a Glass Head for Door-Knobs, BelLPulls, 85e., invented by ALONZO E. YOUNG, of the city of Boston, county of Sniolk and State of Massachusetts.
The nature of my design consists in an improvement in the form of that part ot' doorknobs, bellspnlls, Suc., which may be properly designated as the head, and is fully represeuted in the accompanying photographic illustration and model, to which reference is made.
A represents a perspective view of the back part of my improved design for a head or knob for door-knobs, bell-pulls, ne., showing the projection D. B represents a perspective view of a similar head lying upon its face, giving a better view of the projection D and groove E. O represents the face of the head. The front face of the head is plain. The back is also plain, with the exception of the projection D. The front face and back are parallel with each other, the thickness between being about iveeightl1s or three-fourths of an inch. There are eight sides, which give the general octagonal form to the front and back of the head. The projection D, in the central part of the back of the head, is about One-fourth of an inch in length, circular sided, about one inch in diameter, with the groove E extending around the periphery. The end of the projection is ornamented with some suitable flower or iigure, as shown. The projection D forms no part of this design application.
What I claim as my invention is A design for a head or knob for door-knobs, belLpulls, Smc., made substantially in the form above described.
Boston, Massachusetts, April 24, 1872.
ALONZO E. YOUNG.
