Description

OR D5 0964 (DES!GN.]
A. E. YOUNG.
Glass-Heads for Door-Knobs.
Patented June 25,1872.
UNITED STATES ALONZO E. YOUNG, OF BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS, ASSIGNOR TO FRANCIS L. KING, OF SAME PLAOE.
DESIGN FOR GLASS HEAD FOR DOOR-KNOBS.
Specification forming part of Design No. 5,964, dated June 25, 1872.
Specification describing a Design for a Glass Head for DoorKnobs, Bell-Pulls, &c., invented by ALoNzo E. YOUNG, of the city of Boston, county of Suffolk and State of Massachusett-s.
The nature of my design consists in an improved form for that part of door-knobs, bellpnlls, &c., which may be properly designated as the head, and is full; represented in the accompanyin g photographic illustration and the model, to which reference is herein made.
A represents a perspective view of the side of my improved design for a head or knob for door-knobs, bell-pulls, 8m, showing the grooved projection D. B representsa perspective view of the face of a similar head.
The front face of the head is perfectly plain. The back is also plain, with the exception of the projection D. The front and back are parallel with each other, the thickness between being about three-fourths of an inch. The extreme limits of the sides are in the octagonal form,
as will be seen in Fig. B; but the corners are truncated both front and rear, which leaves the front and rear face still in the octagonal form, but of less size, and the angles all changed. The projection D in the central part of the back of the head is about one-foilrth of an inch long; the sides are circular, with the groove E extending around the periphery. The diameter is about one inch. The end of the projection may be ornamented, as shown, but said projection forms no part of this design application.
What I claim as my invention, is-
A design for a head or knob for door-knobs, bell-pulls, &o., made substantially in the form above described.
Boston, Massachusetts, April 25, 1872.
ALONZO E. YOUNG.
