GAME DEVICE.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Mar. 6, 1917.
Application filed August 5, 1916. Serial no. 113,259.
To all whom it may concern: I
Be it known that I, Monnrs GURTOV, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Game Devices, of which the following is a specilowing specification, of which the accompanying drawings form a part, in which like characters refer to like parts in each of the views, and in which Figure l is a view of my invention in use as a game device; and
Fig. 2 is a view thereof, partly in central vertical section.
Referring to the drawings 3 represents an effigy of a bear consisting of a solid body member 4 covered with fabric of a woollyor hairy character and the head 5, arms 6, and legs 7 of which may be formed of soft material such as cotton or any suitable equivalent.
The body member 4 is provided with a passage 8 therethrough from front to rear and' preferably although not necessarily rearwardly and downwardly inc-lined,
Copies of this patent may he obtained for five cents'each, by addressing the Commissioner of Patents,
-The figure may be used as a doll in the usual manner and, when it is desired to utilize the same as a game device, all that is necessary is to prop the same in a sub stantially vertical position, as against a wall or an article of furniture, with the front toward the player, shown at 11 as a child, who strives to throw a ball into the passage 8 whence it emerges at the rear of the figure and maybe retrieved to again try to throw it through the figure. V
The passage is shown with square frames 9 but any desired shape thereof may be substituted which permits the entry of a ball into the passage, and I prefer. to make the openings through the frames conform to the shape of the passage and of such dimensionsas to permit the entry of a ball though not in too easy a manner.
My invention is very simple in construction and use, and children will derive much enjoyment therefrom, as may adults as well, and I do not confine myself to any particularshape of the device, as many shapes otherfthan that shown may be readlly conceived;
Having fully described my invention,
what I claimas new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A device of the class described, compris ing a body of unyielding material having a passage therethrough downwardly inclined from front to rear, and a covering of yielding material formed to represent an animal, said passage being for the reception and guidance of a thrown ball.
