To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that we, JOHN l?. STEEN and WARREN W. ORAM, citizens of the United States, residing. at Ruthton, in the county of Pipestone and State of Minnesota, have invented new and -useful Improvementsin Powder Puffs, of which the following is a specification. Our present invention powder puffs.

Our object is to produce a powder puff .hat includes in the construction thereof a powder receptacle or reservoir which is of an elastic or yieldable nature whereby, vhen ac of the puff, powder will be ejected from the receptacle through apertures between the fluffy outer Jface of the puff and the receptacle.

A further object is to produce a powder puff that includes a reservoir for the powder having means whereby \readily filled when empty and also pro- .vided with apertured'ports which communicate with the fluffy outer or active face of the pui, said receptacle being of a nature whereby pressure thereagainst, or ratherpressure delivered thereon by contact with the-rear face of the puff will cause .the powder to be ejected therefrom 1n* desired quantities, the said receptacle being also o a nature whereby the powder will `not accidentally be forced therefrom.

The foregoing, and other objects which will appear as the nature of the invention is better understood, may be accomplished by a construction,A combination and operative association of parts, such as is disclosed by the drawings which accompany and which form part of this specification. In the drawings f Figure 1 is a front-elevation of a powder puff in accordance with this invention.

The body of the device is preferably constructed of fabric, the front 1 having a fleecy surface.

Between the front 1 and. back 2 we arrange the reservoir -or powder receptacle 4. The receptacle in the preferred embodiment of the improvement is in the nature of a rubber tube. The tube is preferably said dinner end being stitched to the front or the back or both of these members. The outer end of the tube projects through the Vstitchreduced end having an outwardly projected 7 5 metal neck portion 6. This neck is threaded and is designed to beengaged by a threaded cap 7. The tube has its side in contacting engagement with the face 1 of the puff secured thereto by any desired number of v lcomparatively small eye members 8, the said eyes being flanged upon both their inner and outer faces, the inner anges, of course, contacting with the inner side of the receptacle, and the youter flanges contacting f with the fabric body ofthe facing 1.

If desired, however, and as illustrated inthe drawings, the receptacle may be provided4 with integrally formed teats 9 that pass through openings in the fabric bodyof the faclng 1 and that are ecured on the facing by` a cement ork by ny othendesired means. lIt is to be understood that the outer flanged-ends of the teatsor of the eyes are normallyalmost entirely concealed by the Heeey surface 10 Lon the facing 1. It will be apparent that because of its elastic naturea slight pressure upon the back 2 will cause a partial compression of the receptacle which will force powder through the openings between the said receptacles and the faclng 1.

With our improvement, the powder puff may be used for a comparatively long period of time Awithout requiring the refilling of the. receptacle. While we vhave referred tothe receptacle as constructed of rubber, it is, of course, to'be understood that v the samevmay be constructed of other yieldable material, andalso that the mouth of 11o the receptacle and the screw cap therefor are not necessarily constructed of metal as any other desired material may be employed.
