IMPROVEMENT IN WATER-STRAINERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 142,71 l, dated September' 9, 1873; application tiled August 16, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FREDERTGK W. Mnsn, of Oshkosh, county of Winnebago, State of Wisconsin, have invented a Water Strainer, of which the following is a specification:
The object of this invention is the straining Aof water in its transmission from the spout to the receiver. It consists in a perforated inside cup, A, referring to the accompanying drawing, which represents the strainer as being cut in two equal longitudinal parts, the inside of one of the parts being seen. This cup is surrounded by a cylinder, B, there being more or less space between the cup and cylinder.
The cup may be made of any suitable perforated material. The cylinder may be made of tin or any other suitable material.
The cup Ais connected with the cylinder B by the ring C.. Upon the strainer proper is fastened a neck, D, and upon the neck is placed the spout attachment E, which may consist in a cap, F, having on top a bail, Gr, hinged at H, and fastened at K with a pin and staple. 0n opposite sides of the neck D are placed pivots L, which fit in a corresponding notch, M, in the cap. This notch, having a deep depression at the top, receives the pivot therein by simply turning the cap. This easily fastens the cap, which may readily be taken off for the purpose of cleaning and repairs.
'lhe attachment may be changed to fit dit'- ferent sponts.
vhat I claim is- A waterstrainer having an inside cup, A, cylinder B, neck D, cap F, and bail Gr, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
FREDERICK W. MASE.
