IMPROVEMENT IN MEN'S DRAWERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 142,000, dated August 19, 1873; application filed April 28, 1873.
To all whom it may concern: I 7
Be it known that I, EUGENE L. OLossE, of Cleveland, in the county of Guyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented new and Improved Drawers for Mens Wear, of which the following is a specification:
This improvement relates to drawers, an article of wearing apparel for men and consists in the manner of cutting the fronts for giving increased room on the left side at the crotch; also, in the form of the waistband, arranged with the buckle ontheright side, in front, whereby the same may be easily adjusted to fit the wearer.
In the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 is a front view of a pair of drawers embodying my improvements.
A A represent the legs of a pair of drawers. B is a waistband, which I cut with the facing O in one piece, extending down to the crotch, where the central seam is cut curved,-and when united gives fullness to the left side or inside of left leg. The waistband extends across the front to the right side, where is attached a buckle for securin g the garment to the person, one button half-way down from the waist only being required for closing the fronts. The bottoms of the legs are closed with a buckle. This makes a convenient and comfortablyfitting pair of drawers.
This improvement is equally applicable in a pair of over-alls. I intend to use it also in 0011-. nection with both.
The peculiar advantage also of this plan is that the waistband, being adjustable, renders it readily drawn up to fit different sizes of waists, making it unnecessary to make so great a number of sizes of the garments.
Having described my invention, I claim- As a new article of manufacture, the drawers herein described, provided with the waistband B and facing 0 cut in one piece, reaching down to the crotch, with central seam cut curved so as to give fullness to the left leg and stomach, said band extending across the front to engage with a buckle for securing the garment, one button being used halfway down from the waist to close the front.
E. L. OLOSSE.
