The front Wall 11 of the housing preferably is curved to conform to the configuration of the recess 8. and said housing has in its inner side facing the seat a door-way 12. This door-way is closed by a swinging door 13 having suitable means, as 14, to hold a telephone directory, indicated at 15. The housing is large enough to receive a telephone instrument '16. The door 13 is preferably notched at the'corners, as shown at 17. to

It will be noted that when the instrument is not in use it can be placed within the housing and the door closed, whereupon both instrument and directory are'out of sight.
