Be it known that I, FERDINAND MILLER, a citizen of the United States, residing at San Francisco, county of San Francisco, and State ot' California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Kitchen-Cabinets, of which the following is a speciiication.

My invention relates to kitchen-cabinets, and more especially to that class employing stoves for cooking; and the'object of the invention is to provide a cabinet handy and convenient to the user and which will look neat and is easily kept clean.

The invention consists of a box-like body of rectangular form in cross-section, which body 's divided into two sections forming upper and lower compartments, the former of which is adapted to receive cooking-stoves and the latter of whichis provided with drawers sliding in ways formed in the interior of the body.

The invention further consists in the novel features and combination of parts, which will be more fully described hereinafter and pointed out in the appended claims.

The drawings which form a part of this application are explained as follows: Figure 1 is a perspective view oi' the ldevice as it looks closed up. Referring more especially to the drawings, 1 represents the body or casing, supported on suitable casters and provided with a double top 2, hinged at 3 to the body, and which top constitutes the upper compartment. The other or lower compartment'is divided from the upper one by a horizontal partition 4, which aifords a support for the base 5 of member of oil or gas stove 6. Centrally through the lower compartment is positioned a vertical partition 7, with cleats 8. Similar cleats are providedfor each side of the body, and on .these cleats drawers 9 for the reception of towel-rollers 20.

pots, pans, &c., run. This lower compartment is closed by doors which conceal the drawers. In the upper forward part oi' the upper compartment is a small box-like case 10, running the entire width of the body, for thc reception of soap, batli-bricli,and other kitchen necessities. Just back oi' the stove 6 is a compartment 11, supported on brackets 12, forming the sides of the compartment, and which is provided with hooks 13 in its top arranged to hang dish-cloths upon, and underneath is, made a receptacle for placing anything' in out of the way, such as kitchenspoons, soap-shaker, &c. Extending up Jfrom the top of the compartment 11 is a back 14, which is raised above the double top 2 and forms one side of a receptacle to receive the towel-rollers 20. Immediately back of theback 14 are a plurality of dowels 15, which form the other side of the receptacle for the Secured to the outside oi' compartment 11 at its sides are a number of guides 16, in which slide the towel-rack rods 17. The rods 17 are provided at their upper ends with arms 18, notched at 19 along their entire length for the ends of towel-rollers 20, and are adapted to lie when in normal position, as shown in Fig. 4, along' the back of the dowels 15. .The rods 17 are also provided with holes 21, which are adapted to register with holes 22 in the guides 16 when the rods are extended, as shown in Fig. 3,-and to be locked in such extended position by a pin 23, flexibly secured to the outside of the compartment 11. The rods 17 are half-round and half-square, as shown in cross-section, Fig. 4,

` so as to enable them to turn in the guides 16.

A pipe 24, having an open end and extending under the stove-base 5 into the case 10, is provided to take off any dirt that may accumulate and also to carry off any water which may boil over from the pots ou the stove through an opening 25. This pipe is provided at its outer end with a screw-cap 26, which prevents the water from iioor. The upper compartment, including the double top and compartment 11, is lined throughout with a metallic lining 27, so that it may be easily kept clean.

3. A kitchen-cabi net com pri sing a bod y having upper and lower compartments, drawers slidably mounted in said lower compartment, double box-like tops hinged to said body and adapted to fold over said upper compartment and to close the same, said box-like top also adapted to Aform a table and receptacle :for holding kitchen utensils, when opened.

4. A kitchen-cabine t comprising a body having upper and lower cnmpartments, drawers slidably mounted in said lower compartment, doors closing said lower compartment, double box-like tops hinged to said body and adapted to cover'said upper compartment, the ends of said double top adapted to support themselves against the sides ot' the body when opened, and forming a table for the reception of kitchen utensils.

5. A kitehen-cabinet having a body cornprising upper and lower compartments, a com` partmcnt back of said upper compartment, hooks in the top ol said last-named compartment for hangingl articles upon, and means for closing said upper compartment, said means separati ngthe compartment in tl le back.

7. A kitchen-cabinet comprising a bod y havingl a compartment, a compartment in rear of said body-compartment, and a double top hinged to said body the sides of which are adapted to close said rear eon'xpartment.

8. A lr itclen-cabinet comprising a body having a compartment, a top hinged to said body and adapted to close the compartment on three sides, and means hinged to the body and adapted to close the remaining side, said top and said means adapted to form tables when 1 opened.
