The invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings-in which Fig. 1 is a per.- spective view of the article of furniture erected for use either as an easy chair or a 7 deck chair and with a table and arest seat;

In case the furniture is'to'bej used as a bedstead or alounge, the chains .19 are detached 1 from the extension piece 9 and the side por-' tions 2 are swung-on thehinges 3 to bring the side portions 1 and 2 into alignment as shown in Fig. 3 the catches 21 engaging the eyes 23 when the extension piece 9 is lowered to horizontal position. The extension piece 8 is also set in erect position as shown in Fig. 3 with its legs 12 resting on a support. Similarly the legs 13 are set to support thev extension piece 9.

Cushions or mattresses of any approved type may be used in connection with the furniture when it is being used either as a rest chair or as a bedstead or. lounge. The

furniture is constructed of wood to any preferred pattern. Cushions maybe stored in the box? when they are ,not in'use.
