IMPRQVEMENT IN SEWING-MACHINE TABLES.

` To all lwhom Iit 'may concern:
Be it known that I, JOSEPH BENNOR, of the city of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain AImprovements in Extension Tables for Sewing Machines, of which the following is a specification:
My invention relates to swinging brackets, connected with the under side of the tabletop, in combination with a vertical side of the cover for the extension of the area of the table, as hereinafter fully described.
Figure 1 is an isometrical view of the top A and the cover B, with the latter resting upon it,
and the brackets OO swung intotheir outward position to receive the cover. Fig. 2 represents an end elevation of the cover B in connection with the table-top A. Fig. 3 is a reverse plan view ofthe table-top A, with the brackets C C swung inward out of the way.
Like letters in all the figures yindicate the same parts.
A is the table-top; B, the cover, and C G brackets for connecting them together for the extension of 'the area of the table-top. The brackets are connected with the lower side of the table-top A by means of screws a a,
l upon which they turn freely. They are brought at right angles to the end of the top when the cover is to be brought into connection therewith, in which position they rest, at their inner sides, against the shoulders b b ofthe cleats D D, shown by dotted lines in Fig. 3. The brackets have hooks c c, with which the staples E E, which project from one side of the cover B, are connected. A iirxn support is given to the cover by means of the lugs d d of t-heV brackets, against which its inner side rests, as seen in Fig. 2. When the cover is the same, the brackets are swung inward under the top, as seen in Fig. 3.
I claim as my invention- The combination of the swinging brackets C C having hooks c o and lugs d d, top A, and cover B having staples E E, substantially in the manner and for the purpose above described.
