IMPROVEMENT IN TELEGRAPH-POLES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 139,593, dated June k3, 1873; application ld May 18,1872.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, THoMAs J. MCUARVER,
J AMES ATHEY, and BERRYMAN JENNINGs, of Oregon City, in the county of Clackamas, and State of Oregon, haveinvented anew and useful Improvement in Telegraph-Poles 5 and wevdo hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming a part of this specification, in whichi Figure l is an elevation of a sectional tele- `graph-pole made of angle-iron. Fig. 2 is a cross-pieces c may be cast in the angle between the Wires by which to climb.
These sections are connected together by clips d on the end of one section, between which and the end of said section the end of the other section will be fitted by sliding in endwise, as clearly shown in Figs. 1 and 3.

will be applied to the upper ends of the top sections for reception of the insulators for holding the Wires.
The posts of this form are cheaper and more durable than those of any other form before used.
Having thus described my invention, what l cla-im as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is A telegraph-pole made of metallic sections, constructed substantially as described.
