IMPRQVEMNT IN CLLAR BUTTONS OR STUDS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 137,807, dated Apzil 15, 1873; application filed February 8, 1873.
To all whom 1i/may concern:
Be it known that I, JAMES IREDELL WAD- DELL, of Annapolis, in the county of Anne Arundel and State of'Maryland, have invented certain Improvements in the Collar Button or Stud called The T Button or W'edge,77 of which the following is a specification:
The T button or Wedge is composed `ot' three parts. The rst part, Figure l, of my invention relates to the combination of a spring and Wedge. The object of the spring, letter a, is to hold rmly the card or collar ily. The ily is a part of the apparel of men. The object 0f Wedge, letter b, attached to the spring a is to x securely the fly to the collar-button. b is the cap ot' the wedge Z1 to prevent the Wedge slipping through the button. b is the vertical view, with the cap, of the Wedge b. The spring and Wedge should be made of metal. The spring can be moved from one to another fly. The second part, Fig. 2, of my invention relates to a shirt-collar button or stud, letter c, in the cone, letter d, of which is described a triangle, the apex of which is open, and through which the Wedge, letter b, moves freely downward until arrested by its cap. e is the plan of the button or stud. Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secureby Letterslatent is A neck-tie fastener, composed of a stud or button grooved or dovetailed transversely of its outer disk 4and a Wedge-shaped piece, b, having a spring, a, attached thereto, constructed and arranged substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
