T 0 all fw hom t may concern Be it known that I, FRANK A. DUrRA'r, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Akron, in the county of Summit and State of Ohio, have invented new and useful Improvements in Shade-Brackets, of which the following is a specification.
The object of the invention is to provide a simple, inexpensive and efhcient shade and curtain supporting bracket adapted for ap* plication to a window casing without involving the mutilation or marring of the latter and yet designed to support the shade roller and such drapery as may be desired, in proper position with relation to the win.- dow opening and under such conditions as to permit of the adjustment of the shade at the will of the operator.
With these objects in view the invention consists in a construction and combination of parts of which a preferred embodiment is shown in the accompanying drawing, wherein:
Figure 1 is a front view of the device applied in the operative position to a window casing.
Fig. 2 is a sectional view on the plane indicated by the line 2 2 of Fig. 1.

Fig. 4 is a detail sectional view of the hanger stud by which the bracket is secured to the window easing.

The bracket proper as indicated at 10, is
of angular form having a main plate 11 and an upper terminal ear 12 disposed in a plane substantially perpendicular to that of the plate, the latter having a keyhole slot 13 for engagement with the flattened .shank 141 of a screw stud 15 `of which the threaded shank 16 is adapted to be engaged with the side of the casing indicated at 17. In applying the bracket the enlarged portion of the keyhole slot is passed over the head 18 of the screw stud so as to permit of the engagement of the extension 19 of the keyhole slot with the flattened shank 14 of the stud to the end that the bracket is held in an upright position with relation to the window casing as indicated in Fig. 1.
The horizontal ear 12 of the bracket is provided with a seat 20 in communication with a slot 21 adapted for engagement by a terminal hook 22 on a curtain rod supporting arm 23 which rests in the seat 20, the inturned extremities 24 of said arms being engaged with the extremities of a curtain pole 25 which extends transversely of the window casing in front of and in parallelism with the shade roller 26 of which the terminal trunnions are engaged respectively with bearings 27 provided in the plate or body portions of the oppositely disposed brackets.
Obviously the curtain, pole supporting arms 23 may be dismounted when not required and may as readily be remounted when it is desired to support a curtain or other drapery in front of the shade roller, and a movement of the latter in the adjustment of the shade can be effected as in the ordinary practice without Yin anyway interfering with such drapery and without being interfered with thereby.
To dismount the bracket from the casing it is simply necessary to raise the plate sufficiently to permit of the registration of the enlarged portion of the keyhole slot 13 with the head of the screw stud., the latter being relatively inconspicuous so that it may be 'permitted to remain in position until it is desired to replace the bracket.
What is claimed is:
A. shade roller bracket having a plate pro vided with means for detachably securing the same to a window casing and having an inturned terminal ear provided with a seat and a communicating slot, and a curtain pole supporting arm adapted for arrangement in said seat and provided with a terminal head for engagement with the slot', said arm having an inturned terminal for engagement with a curtain pole.
