IMPROVEMENT IN SASH-HOLDERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 130,766, dated August Q0, 1872.
Specification describing a Window-Fastening, invented by EDWARD H. SWEETsER, of Hamburg, in the county of Fremont and State of Iowa.
The invention consists in attaching to and near the edge of sash a bifurcated reversible lever, with a triangular or similar shaped friction-block pivoted between its prongs.
In the drawing, Figure 1 is a side elevation. Fig. 2 is a horizontal section of my improved fastening.
In the drawing, A represents the sash of a Window, and B the frame. C is a plate, which I preferably fasten to the side of the sash and near its edge. D is a lever pivoted to plate C at c, provided with prongs d d, and with the pivot d passing across and journaled in the prongs. On this pivot turns freely a triangular or similar shaped metallic hub, E, surrounded by a likeshaped block, F, preferably of rubber.
