To all whom it may concern:

Beit known that I, FRED A. SEBnNsTE,

a citizen of the United States, residing at Hammond, in the county of Lake and State of Indiana, have invented certaln new and useful Improvements in Tobacco-Plpes, of

which the following'is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements in tobacco pipes, One ObjGCUlS to prov1de a pipe that is so constructed as to afford a sanltary-smoke as the smoke passes from the bowl to the smoke passagein the stem without'carrying'withit any portion of the condensed nic-otineor other deleterious residuum; A further object is to provide a pipe'in which tobacco cannot possibly clog the stem, and in-which the'stem is at all times retained absolutely free from ash from the pipebowl. A further objectis toprovide a pipeprovided with a part1- 'tioned residue compartment in Which-the liquid residuum and the dry or ash residuum are keptseparate, said compartment being readily removable from the pipeto permit it'to be thoroughly and readily' cleansed. With the foregoing-and other objects in viewthe invention consists inthe combination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter fullydescribed, pointed out in the appended claims and illustrated in theaccompanying drawing which forms apart of this specificatiom- The illustration is a=longitudinal sectional view through a to my invention.

The reference numeral 1 denotes the bowl of the pipe which is threaded for connection with the neck portion 2 which is likewise threaded for connection with the cylindrical jacket 3 which is threaded for engagement with the cap 4. The neck portion 2 is formed with an inner annular shoulder 5 whereon a perforated metal disk 6 is seated and retained rigidly in position by an inner annular shoulder 7 formed by the inner termination of the pipe bowl 1. 7 Within the jacket 3 I provide a block 8 having a depending leg 9 that restsupon the cap 4 and divides the said block into separate compartments 10, 11, said leg dividing one straight face of the block into faces 12, 13.

What is claimed is 1. In a tobacco pipe,-
