This invention relates to improvements in railway ear side hearing.
One object of the invention is to provide a simple. relatively cheaproller side bearing.r for railway cars and so arranged that the roller will he auton'iatieally returned to eent.ral or normal (position after each aetuation.

In a roller side bearing, the combination with a base casting having a central tread portion, of a roller mounted on said tread portion', and a hollow, substantially rectangular rocker surrounding'the lower portion of provided with a pair of bearings and the rocker having two of its edges rounded to cooperate with said bearings.
6. In a roller side bearing, the combination with a hollow base casting having a centrally raised tread portion, of a rocker of substantially rectangular form having its end Walls rounded at their lower edges, the base casting being provided with coperatsaid roller, said base casting being in@ bearings for sald edges to thereby pcr- .mit the roller to tilt about either end, and a rollermounted on said tread portion and Withinsaid rocker, the diameter of the roller being in excess of the distance between the upper' portions of the end walls ,of the rocker.
