Be it known that I, ADNA A. WADsWoRTH,

vJ r., a citizen of theUnited States of America, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Toilet-Cases, of which the following is a specification.

Travelers in hurriedly packing up to leave for a certain destination often-times forget oneor more of their toilet articles.

It is the primary object of this invention to provide a case for these articles, constructed to render it exceedingly awkward to close the case until every article isin its respective place therein, thus making it less possible for the person to forget any of such articles,

To this end the invention consists of a device of this character wherein each of the holders in the case for the various articles has associated therewith a means adapted to be automatically released upon removal of an article from the case to retain the cover of the case open until the article is replaced in its proper position in the case.

Another important object flowing from the invention resides in the provision of a means for this purpose adapted to engage the articles to hold the same under tension within their' respective holders, with a View of preventing casual displacement or separation of the same therefrom under any circumstances.

Another object of the invention resides in the provision of a means which will be adjustable to readily accommodate itself to articles of diiferent sizes.

Other objects will appear as the nature of the invention is better understood, the same residing in the construction, combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described.

In the drawings, forming a part of the application, like numerals of reference indicate similar parts in the several views, and in which:

end flaps 6, side flaps 7, and a retaining flap 8, all of which being adapted to be folded upon one another to provide a substantially rectangular casing as shown in Fig. 1. The several flaps described are provided with suitable fastenings 9, whereby they may be connected together and the case held in a closed position as shown in the mentioned Fig. 1. I aimprincipally to provide a structure in which the several flaps can be readily folded together in package or case form and will be arranged substantially in the same general horizontal line when unfolded shown in Fig. 2. Any suitable well-known structural formation can be resorted to provided the function described above can be accomplished. However, it `,is desired that the case as a whole be constructed of an intermediate stiffening material 10, an inner lining 11, and an outer covering material 12. l

This arrangement oives good results in that the package is rendered strong and durable, it is cheap in cost and yet can be conveniently carried on the person.

Extending along the longitudinal center of the wall 12 is a narrow strap 13, the end 14, of which being suitably secured in any well-known manner to said wall 12', and then passed through loops 15, which are secured to said wall 12', the free end 16, of the strap being extended against the inside of the next adjacent flap 6, whereby it may be manipulated and the strap tensioned or adjusted as the occasion necessitates. In this manner loop shaped holders are formed for the reception of the articles to be accommodated in the ease. The arrangement also provides means whereby articles of dilferent sizes can be uniformly accommodated. The strap 13, is held in an adjusted position through frictional contact thereof with the loops 15. Secured to the wall 12', adjacent the loop-like holders for the toilet articles are inner sections 17, of lingers 18. Each of said fingers is hingedly connected at 19 with its sections 17, and as illustrated a spring 20, is employed for normally exerting pressure against the finger. The linger 18. is adapted to overlie the mentioned section 17 under normal conditions. In this manner it is evident that the loop holders formed by the strap 13, are held under some tension,. the articles contained in said holders ling to leave for a certain destination.
