HECEPTACLE. Awucmon mso ocT. 25. 1915.

RECEPTACLE.
Specication of Letters Patent.
Patented Jly 23, 191s.
Application-filed October 25, 1915. Serial No. 57,825.
To all whom it may Concern: v
Be it known that I, l\l \no.\lnrr E. Gullv FITII, a eitizen ot' the United States, resid' ing at lhiladell'ihia, in the county of lhiladelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented new and useful Improvements in Rcceptacles, of which the following is a spee'r Vtachment for preventing the passing' outwardly of sound waves created within the device.
A further object of the invention is to provide the device with an enlarged body portion adapted to receive the initial discharge of urine and to also provide the same with an outlet pipe by means of which the body portion may he drained of its contents when considered advisable.
With these and other objects in view the invention consists of certain novel features of const rnction and combination of parts as hereinafter set forth and pointed out in the claim.
Figure 1 is an elevation of the devicel showing a portion of the body of the wearer in dotted lines.
Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section thereof.
ln the drawings the numeral 1 designates the body ot' a capacity great; enough to hold the, discharge from the wearer. 'This body 1 is made ol waterproof material and has formed at one end portion a neck 2. This neel( i llaves outwardly toward its edge portion $5. 'lhis edge portion Ii is in the t'orln of a bead and has formed integral therewith rings A1V for a purpose hereinafter described.
Referring to Fig. l in the drawings it will be seen thatr this odge, portion 5 cont'orms to the curvature, ot the body of thel wearer at the point ot' attachment so as to accomplish a perfectly tightset for preventing the passing therearound of liquid or sound waves generated witlii-ir the body 1 for obvious reasons. At a point of connection of the neck with the body I, provide a hand 5 that forms a reinforce JntY and also supports a ring 6 by means of which`the device as a whole may be hung up. For attaching the body to the wearer I have provided straps 7 provided at each end with a snap hook S engaging the.`rings of the head. At this point attention "is `called to the fact that when the strap 7 is. tight the edge portion of the neck will he brought into tight engagement with the body of the wearer due to the fat-t, of the relative arrangement between the strap and the neck. For draining the body 1 when deemed necesSary.I have provided an outlet pipe 9 adapted to convey the liquid to any suitiible peeeptacle. It is understoodithat the pipe 9 can be valve controlled for allowing the body 1 to receive a pre-determined quantity of liquid before the body 1 is discharged.
Having described my invention what I claim is:- y
In a device ot the character described, in combination a flat-sided bag of waterproof material formed at one end with a`neek, said neckbping substantially round in curvature flaring outwardly from said bag and haw ing its edge eut away so as to provide a pair of opposed concave edges forming a pair of convex edges aty right angles to the concave edges, an integral flexible bead extending completely around the convex and concave edges ot' said neck to reinforce the `same, a pair of rings secured at diametrirally-opposite, points ot' said neck upon the upper ends of the said com ex edges of said neck` a single adjustable belt having its 0pposite. ends seeured to said rings .so as to permit. either of the cont-ave edges of said neck to be, engaged` with the body of the wearer and a reinforcing device extending around the bag below the neek, and a supporting device secured thereto.
In testimony whereof I allix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
