UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ADOLPH OTTO, OF NEW BRAUNFELS, TEXAS.
IMPROVEMENT IN GLASS GLOBES OR RESERVOIRS FOR LAMPS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 125,754, dated April 16, 1872.
Specification describing a new andlmproved Glass Globe for Kerosene-Lamps, invented by ADOLPH OTTO, of New Braunfels, in the county of Gomal and State of Texas.
Figure 1 represents a vertical central section of my improved glass globe. Fig. 2 is a top view of the same.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
point where, without such groove, the globe would have the largest diameter. Into this groove is fitted a ring, B, of India rubber, which projects beyond the surface of the globe to constitute a protective cushion on every side of the lamp. Whenever the lamp is overthrown the rubber ring will receive the concussion and prevent the breakage of the globe and consequent concussion.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The glass-lamp reservoir provided with the protective cushion B, substantially as herein shown and described.
