To all whom it 'may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY Tmorrrrnn ZANNE, a citizen of the Republic of France, and a resident of Paris, France, have invented new and useful Improvements in Bushs and Stay-Fastenings, which are fully set forth in the following specification.
The busk according to the invention is characterized in that each stud is carried by a metal plate projecting beyond the edge of the blade, in the same fashion as the eyes, and in such a manner that the said plate, not being covered with fabric, the height of the stud may be reduced to a minimum, which permits of its engagement with the eye without play. rIlle interval existing between the two blades of the busk is filled by a supplementary blade connected to the fabric at one of the edges of the corset.
T he invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which Figure 1 shows the two parts of the busk.
Fig. 2 shows the busk fastened.
Fig. 3 is a transverse section on the line A--A Fig. 2.
Fig. 4 shows the busk fixed to the fabric of the corset.
Fig. 5 is a transverse section of the line B-B, Fig. 4.
As seen in the drawings the busk comprises two metal blades a and b, one of which carries the eyes c, while the other carries the studs (l. The plates in which the openings constituting the said eyes are formed are rigidly secured to the blade a, in such a manner that they project laterally.
The studs d, are each mounted upon a metal plate c, the plates e, being rigidly secured to the blade b, so as to project laterally as shown in Fig. 1.
The length of each plate e, is such that the corresponding eyes c, may be applied to it., without touching the fabric of the corset, when the stud cl, may be inserted in the larger part of the opening in the said eye.
By following the above arrangements, the heightof the stem of the stud d, may be so reduced that the head of the stud may be engaged with the eye without play.
rIhe busk so arranged has the following advantages 1. The two metal blades constituting the busk are placed and maintained at the same level on the body.
2. As the studs are situated outside the blade the fabric of the corset need not be pierced for the passage of the studs.
3. As the studs have no play in the eyes there is no relative movement between the two parts of the husk, and accidental unfastening, pinching of the skin, etc., are avoided.
LLL. The husk is fastened and unfastened in the ordinary manner.
Owing to the arrangement of the studs d, the two blades of the busk have a certain space between them. This is filled up by a supplementary blade g, held in a gusset formed by the fabric of one of the sides of the corset. (Fig. 5).
It is to be understood that the plates e, may be fixed upon the blade Zi, in any suitable manner. Similarly, the studs cl, may be solid with or fixed to the plates e, in any convenient way.
T he above arrangements are given by way of example only; the form, dimensions and details may be varied to suit special circumstances without departing from the inven tion.
