IMPROVEMENT IN FRUlT-GATHERERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 1 24,33 1, dated March 5, 1872.
Specification describing certain' Improvements in Metallic Sockets for Fruit-Pickers, invented by PETER CONVER, of Farmington, in the county of Fulton and State of Illinois.
My invention consists in a head on the end of the neck of the socket, so constructed that the utensil can be firmly and very readily fastened on by passing the ends of the Wires through the notches or slots and Winding them round the neck of the socket down to the collar on the neck of the socket and hammering the corners down on the wires in the notches.
Figure 1 represents the socket or a section of the socket with the head and the Wires fastened as stated. Fig. 2 is or represents a section of the socket Without the fastening.

I make no claim to the construction of the socket or size or material thereof. In these respects they should be constructed, like all other sockets, to suit the purpose for which used; but
