IMPROVEMENTAIN HAIR-CURLING PINS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 123,778, dated February 20, 1872; antedated February 5, 1872.
- To allpersons to whom these presents may come:
Be it known that I, J OHN HALL, of Watertown, of the county of Middlesex and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful or Improved Curling-Pin for Curling Ladies and Childrens Hair; and do hereby declare the same to be fully described in the following specification and represented in the accompanying drawing, of which Figure l is a perspective view; and Fig. 2 represents the mode of applying it to the hair; Fig. 3, with the cord drawn between the coils of the spring, showing the mode of holding the hair when rolled up.
In the drawing, A denotes a roller with a groove the entire length. Inserted into and made firm to one end of this roller is a steel or elastic wire, having one or' more coils, and extending, the length of the roller, which is kept vin place by said groove. This spring serves a double purpose of holding the hair at the starting point when rolling it, and
makes, in connection with a cord hereafter named, a complete fastening when the hair is rolled up. At the opposite end of said roller is fastened one end of a small cord, G, which,
