To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, Josnrn ZUCKERMAN,

a subject of the Czar of Russia, and a resi-" dent of the city of New York, borough of the Bronx, in the county of Bronx and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Combined Bathing-Cap and Suit- Bag, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description. 1

This invention relates to a combination garment and has reference particularly to a [combined bathing cap and suit bag which may be used for these purposes and also as a jacket for an inflatable bag.

The object in view is to provide a simple strong construction which may be quickly and easily adjusted so as to be utilized for any one of a plurality of purposes.

A further object, more specifically, is the provision of a construction which may be folded in one position so as to act as a cap, in another position to act as a bathing suit bag, and a third position to act as a jacket for an inflatable member so that the jacket and inflatable member will produce a ball.

Inv the accompanying drawing: Figure 1 is a perspective view of the device folded as a cap, the same being shown ona figure. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the device disposed so as to hold a bathing suit or other article, the same being shown in connection with part of a figure. Fig. 3 is a side View of the device arranged as a jacket for an inflatable bag. Fig. 4: is a transverse vertical section through the device when folded as shown in Fig. 1.

Referring to the accompanying drawing p by numerals, 1 indicates the cap structure or, rather, the device folded as a cap so as to fit the head of a bather.

When the device has been spread out or inflated to its natural shape the same assumes the form of an ordinary foot ball, as shown in Fig. 3. The wall 2 of the device is preferably made from a plurality of pieces or sections 1' of water-proof goods connected together so as to provide a complete inclosure except that it is open along line 3, which opening is closed by an overlapping fiap 4: held in place by suitable fastening means 5.

When it is desired to use the device as a foot ball, an inflatable bag 6 is inserted into the jacket or wall 2 and the inflatable bag inflated in any suitable manner, as for instance, by blowing through the pipe 7 which pipe is then tied or sealed in some suitable manner. After the bag 6 has been inflated the flap 4: is secured by the fasten-v ing means 5, which may be buttons, snap fasteners or other suitable connecting means.

When it is desired to use the device as a cap the bag 6 is removed and. one end of the device is folded into the other, certain of the sections 1" as shown in Figs. 1 and 4, will produce ear covering members 8 and 9, said ear covering members acting as pockets for receiving money or other articles 10, as

shown in Fig. 1.

11 and 12 are connected to the ears 8 and 9 and may be tied beneath the chin or looped around as shown in Figs. 1 and 4: andsecured together at the top of the head by fastening means 13. When leaving the bathing beach the acket 2 may have the bathing suit arranged therein and the

It is evident that when the parts are arranged as shown in Fig. 3 the device could be used as a float or wings without departing from the spirit of the invention. Also, other uses could be found for the device, but the arrangement of the parts which will allow the readjustment of certain sections of the device so as to produce a cap, a bathing suit bag and a ball are important, as these changes may be made quickly and easily and by merely an adjustment of the parts.

lVhat I claim is:

1. A combined article of the character described, formed with acovering member ears of a person when the covering member.

has been folded to produce a cap, and retaining and binding straps connected to said ears.

2. In a combined article of the character described, a substantially water-proof body approximately twice as long as it is wide, one half of the body being capable of collapsing to a position within the other half, part of said body being formed with extensions which produce depending pockets on opposite sides of the body, said pockets acting as ear covers when the device is in use as a cap.

3. In a combination article of the cha actor-described, a body arranged to form a jacket for an inflatable bag when the device is used as a ball, a pair of projections formed integral with part of the body forming pockets and ear covers When the device is used as a cap, saidjacket being open at 5 one point, and means for holding said opening closed.

i. A combined article of the character described, comprising abody formed from a plurality of sections connected together,'

two of said sections arranged diametrically opposite being formed with extensions which when the device is folded, Will produce combined pockets and ear covers, and means connected with said pockets for holding the device in position on the head.
