Figure 1 is a side elevation of my improved folding crib, as it appears looking in thedirection of arrow 1 in Fig. 2, showing the crib in position for use. Fig. 2 is a top plan view, as seen looking in the direction of arrow 2 in Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a vertical central sectional view, taken upon the lines 3-3 of Figs. 2 and 4, showing the, crib in folded position. Fig. 4 is a transverse section taken upon the line 4 4 of Fig. 3, the crib being shown in its folded position, as in Fig. 3. Fig. 5 is an enlarged fragmentary perspective view showing the hinge between the crib frame and head board.

Referring more particularly to the drawings, the preferred embodiment of my invention comprises the housing or supporting frame 1, which is composed of the side members 2 and 3, the bottom 4, front 5, and

-supporting arms 6 and 7. Vertical guide ways 8 and 9 are formed upon the inner faces of the side members 2 and 3 and face each other, said guide ways being parallel and extending from the bottom 4 of the housing to the top of said side members.

The bed frame 10 is adapted to swing between the side members 2 and 3, and consists of the side boards 11 and 12, head board 13 and foot board 14. A guide rod 15 extends across the upper end of the head board 13 and is secured thereto by screw eyes 16. A hinged head board 17 is hingedly attached to the guide rod 15 and extends upwardly and is hingedly attached at its upper end to a second guide rod 18, by screw eyes 19. Said guide rods being longer than the width of the bed frame and extending into the vertical guide ways S and 9.

`A pair of supportingl legs 20, 21 are rigidly attached together by the brace 22 and hingedly connected to the upper end of the foot board 14, by the hinges 23 and 24. A pair of longitudinal connecting bars 25 and 26 are pivotally connected to the upper ends of the supporting legs and 21, and to the guide rod 18. A second pair of longitudinal connecting bars 27 and 28 are connected to said legs 2O and 21, below the bars and 26, and to the intermediate por-- tion of the head board 17, said bars being approximately parallel with each other.

A transverse supporting bar 29 extends across the head end of the bed frame 10, and is rigidly attached to the side boards 11 and 12, said bar extending out beyond the bed frame, as shown in Fig. 2, and resting upon the supporting arms 6 and 7 of the side members 2 and 3. rllhis supporting bar 29 supports the head end of the bed frame `and forms the fulcrum upon which the bed rotates. The underside of said supporting bar being rounded as indicated at 30, to facilitate movement thereof in raising or lowering the bed frame. A seat 31 is hingedly'attached to the outer ends of the supporting bar 29 and the seat back 32 is rigidly attached to the underside of the bed frame 10 against said supporting bar 29. When the bed is in open position as shown in Fig. 1, the weight of the bed frame rests upon the supporting bar 29 and not upon the seat 31 and back 32.

A drawer opening 33 is formed between the side members 2 and 3, at their forward ends, for the reception of a drawer 34, said drawer opening extending from one side to the other, so that the drawer may be reached from either side. The drawer is open at the top as shown in Figs. 3 and 4, so that when the bed is in folded position access may be had thereto by swinging up the hinged seat 31.

Fig. 3 shows the crib in folded position and in the operation of swinging it to its open position, the supporting bar 29 slides forward upon the arms 6 and 7 until" the guide rod 15 swings into alinement with said supporting bar, and then said supporting bar slides back to the position shown in Fig. 1.

The longitudinal bars are hinged to the legsand head: board in such relation to each other that when the bed is swung to its open position, the legs assume a vertical position to support the outer end' of the bed frame, and when swung to its closed position they remain in this position and extend alongside the connecting bars, as shown in Fig. 3.

and the brace. 22, form a folding superstructure above the bed` frame and serve the double purpose of bracing the legs, when the crib is in position for use, and prevent` the child from climbing or fallingout of said crib.

It is obvious that I have constructed a crib which is convenient and compact and which combines a seat and wardrobe drawer in connection therewith, so that clothing and other necessities may be kept in a convenient place near the bed;

What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is'- l. In a folding crib construction, a housing comprising side members, a plurality of verticalI parallel guide ways in the side members, a bed frame adapted to swing between saidside members, a guide rod upon the head end of said frame and extending into a pair of said guide ways, a head board hingedly connected to said guide rod, a second guide rod hingedly connected to the upper end of the headboard and extending into the other said guide ways, legs hingedly connected to thef foot end of the'bed frame andk connecting bars pivotally connecting the legs andv head board together. 1

2. In a folding crib constructioma housing comprising side members, a bed frame adapted tov swing between said side members, supporting arms upon said side members, a supporting bar upon the bed frame adapted to rest upon said supporting arms, a plurality of guide ways upon the inner faces of the side members, a hinged head board upon one end of the bed frame, legs hinged to the other end of said frame, pintles extending outwardly from the head board into the guide ways and connecting bars connecting said head board and legs together.

8. In a folding crib construction, a housing comprising side members, a bed frame adapted' to swing between said side menibers, a plurality of guide ways in said side members, a head board hingedly connected to one end of said bed frame and legs hingedly connected tothe other end, pintles upon said head board extending into said guide ways, connecting bars connecting the head board and legs together and a supporting bar upon the head end of the bed frame resting upon said side members, so that when the bed is rotated to a vertical position the supporting bars and legs fold together against said bed frame.

4. A folding crib construction comprising side members, a bed frame adapted to swing between said side members, arms upon sai side members, a supporting bar upon said bed frame adapted to rest upon said arms andy forming the fulcrum upon which the bed frame is rotateda headboard hingedly connected to onel end of said bed frame and legs hingedly connected to the other end, and means connecting the head board and legs together, so that when the bed frame is in its folded position the legs assume a vertical position above the side members.
