Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented (lot. 26, 1915.
Application filed June 23, 1914. Serial No. 846,808.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, RICHARD KIEsEL, a subject of the Emperor of Germany, residing at Freiburg, Baden, Germany, have 1nvented new and useful Improvements 1n Brackets, for attachment to pillars or walls for displaying curtains and other goods and for like purposes; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention.
In the drawing: Figure l is a side View of a bracket and of a socket, Fig. 2 is a plan view of a socket with several brackets, Fig. 3 is a section on line A-B of the Fig. 2.
The socket consists in a flat part a, which is attached to a pillar or a wall and bears a horizontal sheet I) with a head 0, the front of which is semi-circular curved. bracket has a semi-circular curved mouth 03 with a vertical nose 6 on one side while the other remains free. The mouth-piece at carries the rod 7 on which the curtains or other goods are attached either directly or by means of other pieces. The sockets can be combined in an agreeable manner. In the Figs. 2 and 8 six sockets are attached to a round pillar. The brackets can be removed by turning in the direction of the arrow in Fig. 1. After lifting up the rod f the bracket can be dislodged in the direction of the head 0 of the socket. By its own gravity the bracket is held fast and the stability the rod.
Having thus described the nature of my said invention and in what manner the same is to be performed I declare that, what I claim is:
1. In a bracket of the character described the combination of a The headed rail, a foot part integral with said rail and adapted to be permanently secured to a wall, a straight Web connecting said foot to the semi-circular head of the rail, and of a display arm having a semi-circular foot, a radially disposed nose integral with said foot and gripping with its sharp edge behind the head of said rail for adjustably connecting said rail and display arm for suspending articles therefrom adapted to insure bv their weight a rm engagement between said semicircularly shaped head and the headed rail.
In a bracket of the character described, the combination of a headed rail, a foot part integral with said rail and adapted to be permanently secured to a wall, a straight web connecting said foot to the se1ni-circular head of the rail, and of a display arm having a semi-circular foot of a larger diameter than the head of said rail, a radially disposed nose integral with said foot and gripping with its sharp edge behind a head of said rail for adjustably connecting said rail and display arm, and a socket integral with said semi-circular foot, a rod secured to said socket for suspending articles there from adapted to insure by their weight a firm engagement between said semi-circularly shaped foot and the head of said rail, substantially as described.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
RICHARD KIESEL.
