WILLI WESTFEHLING, 0F LUBECK, GERMANY.
HOLDER FQR'HANGING ARTICLES.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Aug. 2, 1921.
Application filed October 28, 1919. Serial No. 334,101.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, IVILLI lVEsrrnHLrNc, subject of the German Empire, residing at 32 Holstenstrasse, Lubeck, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Holders for Hanging Articles, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing. D
Thls invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in holders or devices for hanging articles of decoration and it has for its objects among others to provide an improved device of this nature which shall be simple, cheap, easily applied, durable and most efficientin use.
()ther objects and advantages of the in vention will hereinafter appear and the novel features thereof will be particularly pointed out in the appended claims.
The invention is clearly illustrated in the accompanying drawing, which, with the let ters of reference marked thereon, form a part of this specification, and in which Figure l iS a side elevation showing the device in use.
Fig. 2 is a top plan with the supporting member in section.
Fig. 3 is a plan view showing the dis players extended.
Fig. 4 is a side elevation.
Referring to the drawings,
The holder consists of clamping members 6, Z) pivotally united, as at e, and interposed between these members is a spring a.
The front end of the member 7) is rolled up or bent upon itself, as at c, to receive a displayer or supporting member cl, the outer end of which may be of hook shape as seen in Figs. 1 and 1, f desired,
,The pin or pivot 6 upon which the members Z) 6 are movable is prolonged and bent angularly to the axis portion at an inclination thereto, as seen in Fig. 1, so that the prolonged portion engages the support 2', this portion 71. thus forming an inclined support and brace for the holder proper.
In Fig. 3 the pin 6 is prolonged toward both sides and angularly bent so as to form two additional displayers or supporters f and g. The outer ends of these displayers may be of hook shape, as seen in Fig. 4;, if desired. In this form the members Z2 6 may be held to a horizontal clamp by frictional engagement aided by the spring.
In the form shown in Figs. 3 and a where the support for the holder is horizontal, the inclined brace h is dispensed with, as will be readily understood.
hat is claimed as new is 1. A. holder comprising clamping members with an interposed spring, a supporting arm carried by one of said members, the pivot of said members having an end extended beyond one of said members and angularly disposed.
2. A holder comprising clamping members with an interposed. spring, a supporting arm carried by one of said members, and a pivot for said .members having an end extended angularly beyond the end thereof, the pivot for said members being extended angularly in opposite directions from opposite ends thereof.
In testimony in the presence of two witnesses.
