Be it known that I, ISAAC BERNSTEIN,

a citizen of the United States, residing at the city and county ofSan Francisco and Stateof California, have invented new and useful Improvements in Card Holders, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to display card holders.

It is the principal object of the present invention to provide a simple and inexpensive holder having a wide range of adaptability and which is capable of supporting display cards or other objects at various an- F gles of inclination to suit an observers line of vision.

The invention contemplates the use of a holder preferably formed of spring material which is shaped toprovide a base portion having a clasp at one endand a pair of oppositely disposed clips at the other end; which clips are inclined at different angles relatively to the body; portion.

provide an upper section 12 formed with an upper lip12- of a clasp 14. The strip of metal is then bent as at 15 and extended parallel to the upper section 12 to form a base portion 16. The outer end of'this base is bent to form a lower lip 17 which co-operates with the upper lip 12 to form the clasp 14;. Thelip lQ and 17 are formed at an angle to the elements 12 and 16 and at right angles to each other. The portion 15 constitutes a spring for yieldably maintaining these lips in engagement with each other. v

The lower lip 17 is bent 1110 form a clip 1'? to support a card as illustrated in Fig. 5. This permits the holder to be mounted on bowls and the like for displaying price tags.

Detachably connected to the base 16 is a second card holding member 18 which comprises a flat portion 19 having turned over edges 20 to engage the edges of the base 16. One end of the flat portion 19 is bent as at 20 to form a card holding clip 21 which, as shown, is disposed at an angle to the portion 19.

The card holding clips 11 and 21 are both formed at different angles to the base 16 as illustrated. Therefore, when the holder is positioned on its base, a card or other object may besupported at one of two different angles, dependingupon which holding clip is employed.

The holder 10 and the member 18 may be used separately to support small cards or articles for display. This is illustrated in Figs. 2 and 3.

The clasp of the holder may be employed to support the holder relatively to an article or shelf as desired. The peculiar formation of this clasp permits the holder to be supported thereby at different angles to an object as illustrated in Fi s. 5 and 6. Taking into consideration the fact that the holding clips are disposed at different angles, the user has the choice of a number of different angles upon which to display a card. This permits cards to be positioned in direct line with an observers line of vision regardless of the elevation of the article upon which the holder is mounted.

The form of the invention illustrated in Fig. 8 is practically the same as that described with the exception that it is not bent to form a spring for the clasp 1 L but is fitted with a coil spring 15 for this purpose.

From the foregoing, it is obvious that a very desirable card holder has been provided which is simple in construction and inexpensive to manufacture.

WVhile I have shown the preferred form of my device, it is understood that various changes in its shape and construction may be made Without departing from the spirit of the invention as claimed.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. As an article of manufacture, a holder for display cards or the like formed of spring material bent to form a base having a clasp at one end and a card holding clip at the other end, a second clip detachably connected to the base, said clips being oppositely disposed and at different angles with relation to the base.

2. As an article of manufacture, a holder for display cards or the like comprising an upper section and a base connected by a spring, a lip at one end of the upper section, a lip at one end of the base, said lips co-operating to form a clasp, and a card holding clip formed at the other end of the holder at an angle to the base, the lips of said clasp being disposed at angles to the upper section and the base and at right angles to each other.

As an article of manufacture, a holder for display cards or the like comprising an upper section and a base connected by a spring, a lip at one end of the upper section, a lip at one end of thebase, said lips co-operating to form a clasp, and a card holding clip formed at the other end of the holder at an angle to the base, and a second card holding clip detachably connected to the base, said card holding clips being oppositely disposed and arranged at difierent angles with relation to the base.

As an article of manufacture, a holder for display cards or the like comprising an upper section and a base connected by a spring, a lip at one end of-the upper section, a lip at one end of the base, said lips co-operating to form a clasp, and a card holding clip formed at the other end of the holder at an angle to the base, the lips of said clasp being disposed at angles to the upper section and the base and at right angles to each other, and a second card holding clip detachably connected to the base, said clips being oppositely disposed and arranged at difierent angles with relation to the base.

As'an article of manufacture, a holder for display cards or the like comprising an upper and a base section connected by a spring, a lip at one end of the upper section, a lip at one end of the base, said lips co-operating to form a clasp, the said lips of the clasp being disposed at angles to the upper section and the base and at right angles to each other, a card holding clip at the other end of the upper section, and a card holding clip at the other end of the base, said clips being oppositely disposed and at different angles with. relation to the base.

6. A holder for display cards or the like comprising an upper section and a base connected bya spring, the ends of the upper section and the base at one end of the holder constituting a clasp, the ends of the upper section and the base at the other end of the holder being each formed with a card holding clip, said clips being oppositely disposed and arranged at diflerent angles with respect to said base.
