My invention has for its object to provide a foot scraper and brush combined, by the use of which a person may remove the dirt adhering to his or 11er boots and shoes; and the improvement consists in a metal frame, within vwhich is placed a brush, said frame being made of two parts; and is hinged or locked together around the brush,^so as to hold the brush in a vertical position, and is provided at one end of the movable or hinged part with a horizontal projection, the upper surface ot' which is provided with a thin edge, which forms the scraper.
In the accompanying drawing, A represents the Xed part of 'the metal frame, and A the movable part. The part A is firmly bolted to the step or sill of the door, and is provided at one end with a vertical slot or mortise, into which the curved end of portion A is introduced, and is also provided at its opposite end with a slot, which receives a corresponding projection upon the end of part A when closed, through which passes a vertical bolt or pin, a, by which the Whole is rmly connected together.
B is the brush, which may be made of any suitable material and ot' the size desired to ll the interior of the frame when closed, and is rmly secured therein by means of the pins c @,projecting inward from the upper side of the frame, which engage or enter the sides of the brush.
The movable part A is provided with a horizontal projection, C, the upper surface of which is made with a thin or beveled edge, which forms a cheap and effective scraper.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
l. The fra-me A A', provided with scraper C, substantially as and for the purpose described.` Y
2. In combination, the frame`A A with brush B, substantially as and for the purpose described.
