bia, have invented certain new and useful- Tmprovementsin Trousers, of which the following is a specification.
The invention relates men, letter-carriers, policemen, and others,
4 where'quick adjustment and complete accommodation is required with avoidance of exposure. 7 p
The main object of the present invention is the provision in trousers of this type. of
means whereby the waist portion maybe adjusted to suit the particularwearer and rettl - tion. Fig. 6 is an enlarged perspective': of-
, tlm trousers is formed to provide a flap or fall A main in such adjusted position about the waist independent of the fall section.
A further object of he vention is the provision of means foradjusting the Waist portion of the trousers to simulate the-usual belt connection, .whereby when jthetrousersare being worn, they will have the appearance of the ordinarytrousers supported by" a belt.
The invention in the preferred form of details will be described in the following specification, referencebeing had particularly to the accompanying drawings, in which:-
Figure l is a broken perspective of the im- 7 proved trousers, the view being taken from one side. Fig. 2 is a similar view taken from the rear of the trousers. Fig. 3 is a front perspective, the fall portion being turned down. Fig. 4: is a brokeni perspective .illustrating the belt connection. Fig. 5 is a broken perspective of the removable belt secthe supporting hook. r Tn the accompanying drawing'l desig nates the trousers. The forward portion of 2, usual in this we of garment-and pref-. oer-ably extending oin one side seam to the other. The body of the trousersterminates I wjusted the waist band as previously described at the side seamsbeneath the tall portion, except for the band 3, which extends inwardly beyond the side seams, 'as shown.
@no terminal of the. band has fixedly secured thereto an elastic strip 4: passed be through an eye member 5 and longitudinally v adjustable by a buckle 6, the opposintg ter- Specification of Letters fate'nt.

minal of the band 3 being rovided with a hook 7 to recelve the eye 5. y this arrangement, the band 3 when properly arranged about thewaist of the wearer by adjustment of the connector 4: will act to properly sup.- port the trousers, independently of the position of the fall.
The front pockets 8. of the trousers underhe the fall portion, extending inwardly from the slde seams, as shown, the pocket openings belng accessible beneaththe edges of the fall portion when the latter is in raised or closed position.
The fall portion is provided on the inner surface of its band and about centrally of its Wldth with a hook 9, of substantial length with the bill 10 designed to engage over the connectorl when the fall is elevated, thereby centrally connecting the fall at a proper height, as clearly shown .in Fig. 2. The fall portion is provided on its outer surface, at the upper edge, with a belt,,sec tion 11, permanently. secured to the. fall,
butarranged'to simulate the usual remove is provided with the usual belt loops 13 to receive a removable belt section 14:, which belt section is approximately of a length to reach from one sideseam of the trousers to the other across therear. One terminal of the removable belt section is provided on its inner surface with'a hook 15, and the meeting ends of the fiiied beltterminal 11 provided. with an eye 16 to receivethe hook. The remaining terminal .of the removable belt section 14: is provided with spaced hooks 16 on the inner side, a series of eyes 17 be- [ing also provided adjacent to and in longitudinal alinement with the hook. The trouser band 3' is also provided adjacent each side seam with a series of eyes, 18 and 19,the eyes being arranged about centrally of the height of the band and in alinement longitudinally thereof. In the use of the trousers,
having adthrough the use of the connector 4, it is obvious that the trousers will remain supported bysuch band until opened by discom' necting the eye 5 from the hook 7. When it llllO and the hook 12 at the opposite end of the permanent belt section engaged in the appropriate opening 17. The belt is thus adjusted about the waist in a manner to simulate a belt connection and the fall may be freed in a simple, obvious manner Without disturbing other than the connections be tween the permanent belt section and th removable belt section.
What is claimed is 1. A trousers having aifall portion, the band of the trousers being divided beneath the fall portion, an adjustable elastic connector joining the terminals of the band, a hook carried by the fall portion to engage said connector, a permanent belt secured to the fall portion, a removable belt overlying the trousers band, and adjustable connections between said removable belt and the trousers band, and between said removable and permanent belts.
2. A trousers having a fall portion, a belt permanently secured thereto and terminally formed with connectors, the band of the trousers being formed beyond the fall portion with eyes, and a removable belt cooperating With said band and having connectors to cooperate with said eyes and with the connectors of the permanent belt.
3. A trousers having a fall portion, a permanent belt carried thereby and formed with a terminal eye, end connectors carried by the fall portion, the band of the trousers being formed with eyes to receive one of said connectors, a removable belt portion formed with a terminal connector to cooperate with the eye of the permanent belt, said removable belt being provided with eyes and with spaced connectors, said eyes being adapted to cooperate with the connectors of the fall portion, the band of the trousers being formed with spaced eyes to cooperate with the spaced connectors of the removable belt portion.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
