WINDOWV-SHADE BRACKET.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Dec. 22, 1914.
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, CHARLES L. BECK, a citizen of the United States, residing at Rebersburg, in the county of Center and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in VVindew-Shade Brackets; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in window shade brackets for supporting shade poles and comprises a simple and efiicient device of this nature having various details of construction, combinations and arrangements of parts which will be hereinafter fully described, shown in the accompanying drawings and then specifically defined in the appended claim.
My invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is a view in elevation of a bracket made in accordance with my invention, and Fig. 2 is an end view.
Reference now being had to the details of the drawings by letter, A designates the frame of a window having headed lugs or screws B projecting therefrom and spaced apart. Each bracket is made of a single piece of wire, which is bent on itself at its longitudinal center, forming double hooks C and D adapted to receive the pintles at the ends of shade rolls, and each arm of the wire is bent at right angles at E and the shank portions F are parallel to each other and each end of the wire terminates in a right angled end H. Wires, designated by letter K, are bent to form eyes K at their longitudinal centers and each has an eye L formed at its ends, the central eye being engaged by the screw B and held as shown in the elevation in the drawings and the eyes at the ends are adapted to receive the parallel arms of the bracket. Said eves are disposed at an angle, less than a right angle, to the arms which pass therethrough and are adapted to frictionall engage the opposite edges of the eyes and hold the bracket in an adjusted position while the angled ends H serve as means for limiting the movement of the bracket in one direction. The portion of the bracket which is bent at right angles at E is adapted to contact with the wire K to limit the movement of the bracket in the opposite direction.
By the provision of a curtain supporting bracket made in accordance with my invention, it will be noted that means is afforded whereby the brackets may be adjusted to different widths of windows and lengths of poles as may be desired, the brackets being held by friction in adjusted position.
What I claim to be new is:
A bracket for window shades consisting of a wire which is bent upon itself to form a socket for supporting the end of a shade roller, the shank portions of the wire bent at right angles and having two parallel portions terminating in angled ends, bearing members consisting each of a wire bent to form an eye at its center and fastening means passing through said eye and its ends each bent to form an eye at an angle tothe centrally disposed eye and adapted to receive and engage the parallel portions of the shade roller supporting wire.
In testimony whereof I hereunto affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
CHARLES L. BECK.
